Yes, I probably should've stuck to single-tapping for a while, but alternating looked so much easier and less painful to play certain maps. It's been a week and I'm currently at a stage where I can play maps I would've never been able to play otherwise, but at the same time my aim seems to be worse since I'm channeling a part of my focus on tapping and also I've been setting scores that are shameful in maps I used to decimate

Does anyone have any tips on alting in jumps and maps with stream bursts? cause I can start a stream with both fingers (mostly) but alternating between one stream starting with a finger and another with the other makes my hand unable to click for some reason

It's just play more, really. As far as I can tell finger-locking can only really be overcome through playing similar patterns at slower speeds and ramping that up to the speed you're aiming for. You've just gotta build up the muscle memory and finger control from there, and it certainly can't be forced if you want any sort of permanent skill increase.

Still, I'd suggest you try not to feel ashamed when you look at your previous scores. Those are played using a playstyle that, while familiar, is old. You're trying to gain proficiency in a new playstyle, so of course things are going to look shoddy compared to what you're used to. Don't think of it as shame for not matching what you've done, think of it as a goalpost to reach; IMO that'll help recontextualize it away from possibly feeling like frustrated relief that you're no longer making "shameful" plays into elation that your new playstyle is just as good as the old.
