[osu!stable] Alt Tab on Osu! and the game freezes but continue to run

When i alt tab my osu! screen freezes and the game still runs, when i alt tab again onto the game and get out of any map the game just get's very strange, some black rectangles appear on everywhere,i'd tried some many things like reinstalling Osu!, the music files, verifying the game archives, updating the drivers, run on compatibility, on admin and nothing helped me in that, they did nothing. If i play more than 2 maps the others maps losses their background and if i play them the game says, this beatmap is missing some files, but i'm downloading from the ofc website

If its similar to the video, at first glance it looks like a driver issue to me.

However you also mention that you get errors while in game. You have tried the Osu! repair tool in the Osu! directory yes?

Hi, good afternoon( here is)

i've tried to reinstall the drivers and do not work and also tried the osu! repair tool too

sorry for the delay, i slept :)

edit: in this video i show that my discord overlay isn't up too, some people said that can be the problem but it isn't too, i show osu! repair and NVIDIA driver settings

Hiya thanks for the video showing the issue, could you please also try disabling Nvidia overlay? It'll be under the settings tab in the Nvidia app.

Another thing you can try is making sure that 'Focus' mode is disabled in windows as its been known to mess with Osu! You can do so by either going into windows settings or the bottom right of your taskbar and under the notification/calendar section making sure that focus mode is disabled :D

As to beatmaps spontaneously missing files, I'm not quite sure what that could be as I don't have the best technical knowledge of Osu! I'll update if I find anything.

the image of nvidia overlay off (https://i.imgur.com/9nAIUNP.png) idk why the img isn't going

i've tried them too, but the game answered negatively, i will try to record again! :)

  1. Does this only happen with Osu! or do you get anything similar on other games?
  2. In both of the videos you've sent it looks like your Osu! is processing beatmaps when your computer freezes. Does this also happen after all the beatmaps have been processed?
This could also be a case of whatever storage device you're using experiencing some sort of failure and or file corruption in Windows. Hi, sorry for the delay again, today i updated my windows to the new version and runned the file checker that u've sended to me, i was having some files corrupted yes, the file checker taked around 1 hour to verify and setup everything, upon that i runned osu! and letted the game run processing the beatmaps, i didn't spotted that the game was processing, so i've got to my work, back home about now and checked my pc, the game was running without any alt tab etc; it was processing 10k beatmaps, but when i got home it has stucked on 2485 maps to be processed, the game freezed again like the other video that i've shown but not for 20 minutes, i did have to force my pc to shutdown and i will see again if last the 2485 to process and then test the game again, but in first conclusion the corrupted files didn't solve( BUT, i will try again when the beatmaps are fully processed, see if are more corrupted files and then run the game again)

  1. Yes, it only happens on Osu!, no other game that i know suffers from that
  2. i'm processign all the maps, but it's too many maps, it stuck on 2485

If when i test again and it do alright or bad i will edit this post to get u know, just below that message

Do you maybe have a max background framerate set in your Nvidia control panel which is messing with Osu?

Got me stumped, not really sure what it could be at this point (┬┬﹏┬┬)

no i don't, i'm stumped too, idk what to do now just like u, i will let the osu! in my pc archives but don't play it until i manage to solve it, but thank you for all u helped me :) have a nice day!
