How to remove a mapped difficulty from a mapset without deleting it?

This is my first time creating a forum post so I hope this is the right place but I have some difficulties from a past mapset I don't want to outright delete but don't want to be together with my other diffs in a mapset. How can I move these difficulties to like their separate mapset?

Here's a step by step

  1. Open the maps folder, you can do this in the editor via the "Open Song Folder" function.
  2. In the Map/Song folder you will find the audio file you used for that map, simply drag that back into osu, like you're creating a new map from scratch.
  3. Enter the "newly imported map" in the editor and fill in Artist/Title/Difficulty with something, can be a single letter.
Those fill ins are simply placeholders.
  4. Now open the Map/Song folder on this new map and copy over the difficulty files (.osu format) that you would like to be separated.
  5. Now follow this guide: https://osu.ppy.sh/wiki/en/Guides/BSS_issues, step 1 to 7 are relevant for you.
  6. Once you've followed the guide, you can reopen osu and upload the new separated set like any other map.
If you run into any problems on the way let me know.

Thank you for the response. Apologies for the stupid question but is there any kind of notification system for when a forum post gets responded to? I didn't get a notification.
