So the moral will be, kissing ass with BAT's will get your map modded? lol nothxbai

While it has been stated, and eventually proven, that the above statement is a fallacy, I wonder...Gladi wrote:

A map needs generally follow the guidelines, meet the ranking standards, and be noticed and checked out by at least two BAT members to become ranked. (It also needs 8 SP and other minor things like that.) I think your thought (BAT looking at map == map gets ranked) is incorrect.MegaManEXE wrote:
People who aren't friends with BATS: takes 2 months to get map ranked even when it has 50+ priority for 3 weeks

Because the map generally follow the guidelines, meets the ranking standards, and was noticed and checked out by at least two BAT members pretty quickly due to connections.MegaManEXE wrote:

JJJ made a mistake. Under the current rules (as far as I know) 8 SP is required before a bubble.MegaManEXE wrote:

I don't see how the poll proves anything...minyeob wrote:
Accroding to poll's result, we proved that Forum-PM is the worst method cause they ignore that >_>
As often as I need. That is, when I feel my map is bubble-worthy or needs some special attention (e.g. check if something is rankable because of modder disputes).minyeob wrote:

Why all you guys are ignoring about this minor question
<And how often do you send mod requests to BATs?>
Is it hard to answer?
Anyways it might be fun if you guys tell what BAT say when you give mod requests to them.
(Cause I haven't sent any mod request to BATs via in-game PM)
Not my point.strager wrote:

Aren't BATs supposed to look at stuff by priority?
Priority is pretty meaningless then.strager wrote:

Not really.Ephemeral wrote:

More like, if you want a map ranked, it needs to be made for the community, not yourself.Ephemeral wrote:

You sure are pedantic.strager wrote:

All I'm saying is that priority does not NEED to be a factor for a BAT when they decide to mod a map (excepting the 8 SP rule).More like, if you want a map ranked, it needs to be made for the community, not yourself.Ephemeral wrote:

You can chose to map for your personal reasons.
Ranking is a process to get a map accepted by the community anyway, so of course you're going to have to sell your map to them. You might think that techno-electric airship-hoppin' music is serious jizz, but others might not.strager wrote:

Someone found a way. You need to come to these meetings.ztrot wrote:

Word. In fact, they frigging ignore the maps that say bat request, which pisses me off.Atmey wrote:

nobody gave a damn.
Believe it or not, "BAT request" isn't a password to get a BAT to look at your map. There are hundreds of maps in pending right now, why should going "BAT request" in #mod give one priority over everyone else?Nakata Yuji wrote:

I could care less if they're doing it for free, they might as well do a good job.
More like some BATs are saying,0_o wrote:

You know how to get BATs to NOT look at your maps? Tell them they are doing a crappy job.
I totally agree with that. I just hate it when people are jerks about it.Kytoxid wrote:
Eh. Sometimes BATs are busy modding other things, doing their own things, or just don't really feel like modding. In a perfect world, everyone mods once for every time their map gets modded, and mods are spread around evenly. Unfortunately, there're a lot more mappers than active modders, and I'm pretty sure most active BATs are already modding more than their share would be if they were regular community members.
They also have the issue that they often stick to one map until it gets bubbled, which means that one map might need to be modded several times, making it even harder to go through their queue. BATs just can't take on 5 new maps everyday or something like that.
Yawn. I'm going to grab some cookies.
