While I saw mapset which uses separated spacing between First Name and Last Name of Japanese one, I feel if this can be searched with connected one.

Example: beatmapsets/2156669
Official Twitter of this mapset's artist: https://x.com/ayaserie

Even most official sources like artist twitter, homepage and album jacket uses connected name, some mapper uses separated name even official says CONNECTED name.

So... I just found that Ranking Criteria's metadata section was separated into wiki/en/Ranking_criteria/Metadata , it is nice to see that BN/NAT and mappsets can care about metadata well.
However, this information is not seen in this page so this is why I write this proposal.

Maybe, this can be like rule or guideline. Like...

"For japanese names, first name and last name should not have spacing between them unless there's actual source which uses spacing between first name and last name."

Yeah, this is easy to check and will make searching ability well. Dunno if this would have side-effect O_o.

Finally, we never call peppy as "DeanHerbert" :) Just "Dean Herbert" as english name.
Feel free to post your opinion about this meow

The mapset you linked is just a case of wrong metadata I think, there is no need to add such a rule because it's already covered by this:

Ranking Criteria wrote:

Primary metadata sources must be used as reference. You may modify metadata from primary sources only in ways allowed or required by the Ranking Criteria.
If there are no metadata sources that write the name separately, then you're not allowed to use that.

it has a space
pretty sure they're talking about unicode artist which is "綾瀬 理恵" with a space on the linked map, ur source says "綾瀬理恵" with no space

previous ranked sets of the song use both space and no space kinda inconsistently, and while most sources I can find have no space, there's at least one with a space so IDK what call to make there (haitai nanafa official site news section, 2013-12-26 cd release announcement)

at the very least, it'd be good for searchability to add the no space version to tags when a space is used in the unicode artist field, but I feel like this is kinda covered by existing tag guidelines already, not sure whether explicitly listing this case is worth it

the japanese writing system doesn't use spacing at all, unlike the latin script. if you want to romanise japanese names as one word, it would only make sense to romanise any japanese text as a single word (and by extension do that to any text written in a script that doesn't use spacing)
