A TBT map helps to familarise with the pattern of 3 notes and 5 notes.
It is essential that helps to prepare for oni difficulties.
As for muzukashii, you do need to understand the pattern of DDD and KKK mostly. There would be sometimes having alternate triplets pattern like DDK or DKD and vice versa, so practising it in TBT also good for this diff.
