[osu!stable] I can't update my beatmap

Problem details:
I used osu! supporter to change my username and I had beatmaps created under my old username, so now when I go to update it, it says that the map doesn't belong to me.

Did you try changing the name in the beatmap editor to the new name you have?

right click on map, press 5 (edit), under file there is "open .osu in notepad", change the name of the creator (in the metadata) to anything. when you relaunch the map, go to song setup, and change it to your name (in this case, "Shield VA") and then try and upload.
