I have to agree with the mediahype thing.
Sure, there might still be a man-made planeteater. Though I sincerely doubt entirely man-made. Looking at my climate charts there are a number of highs and lows in temperature, some higher than what has been projected for the coming century (warm periods and ice ages come in evenly distributed patterns).
However I came across a graph showing human population growth which was slightly disturbing; "The end of the last Ice Age was followed by more stable and benign global climate..." The graph shows estimated numbers, since there were no accurate and widespread traditions for population statistics, until just recently (historically). The graph pitches up at approx. 45 degrees at roughly 10 000 BP (the agricultural revolution). Population increases further after the industrial revolution (as you all are aware of I am certain).
Where I'm going with this? To be blunt, there is no real original nature or such a thing as a natural forest. What we see is a product of simple human manipulation;
wheat has been bred, one type savanna is the product of pastoralization and the amazon plains (thought to have been uninhabited) have recently been found to contain "islands" of vegetation, connected to each other by "pathways" of vegetation, in which high levels of the bi-product chemicals of human settlement have been discovered.
I think keeping a level head in this mudpatch is of the essence.
The climate is changing, our planet is at the peak of a global warm period. If humans have contributed to elevating or manipulating the global temperature, we picked a bad time to do so.
But as stated, there will be a drop in global temperature. Whether this happens "on schedule" or not, you'll have to contact a scientist who knows how to keep her speeches short and concise.
EDIT: It is also important to point out that climate is a very complex machine, divided into Global Regional and Local.
Thank you for your time and forgive the block of text. I could go on forever.
