Problem details:
When I try to start osu!, it starts updating, and the update seems to be successful. But the game doesn't start, and it creates a file named ".require_update" in the osu! folder.
Deleting the ".require_update" file before running osu!.exe or reinstalling the game doesn't solve the problem.
I did not find any record related to such a failed run in the Event Viewer.

This is the content of update_success.log:

Edit on 4/3:
It seems to be a problem with the graphics card driver.

My laptop model: HP 340 G4
Graphics card model: AMD Radeon™ R5 M430, Intel(R) HD Graphics 620

Using the AMD driver downloaded from the HP official website causes the above problem. However, using the latest driver downloaded from the AMD official website or using the integrated graphics card allows osu! to start normally.

I still don't know what caused this problem, but now I can access the game.

I hope this information can help others who are facing similar issues.

update_success.log happens when the update is successful.

try holding shift when launching osu, a menu should open up where you can select a new release stream, select a new one and see if that somewhat fixes the issue.

If not then please copy and paste the contents of the update.log after this.

I hold shift when launching osu but no different things occurred.

When the updater window appears, an update.log file is created in the log folder. Its contents are:

2024-04-03T04:39:06: Force update requested

When the updater window automatically closes, the update.log also disappears.
