Will it work, by say simply clicking on the osu! Icon from my flashdrive?
Or do I have to install it in the comp so that it will work?

PS: First time here, so I didn't know where to post this

Install osu! onto the Flash Drive. (Some shortcuts might get reassigned though)

If that's too troublesome, you can simply copy your osu! folder from Program Files and Paste it into your USB. I keep osu! in my USB a lot, despite it being a hog for space.

works; last I checked updating requires some manual "effort" (you have to unzip the updater files since, I'm guessing, Windows blocks removable storage devices from unzipping things) that takes a competent person 10 seconds to figure out.

If your song folder is like mine (16gb plus) then probably not... unless you can afford a freaking huge flash drive, or get a passport hdd.

Basically, copy the program files folder, it should work.

  1. Download osume.
  2. Save it a directory on the flash drive (e.g. ¥:\osu!).
  3. Run osume.exe.
  4. ???
  5. PROFIT!

SFG, I thought you would know better than to post in threads more than two days old.

I ran osu! off of a flash drive for like 8 months and never found anything troubling or difficult about it. Just install it on the drive.
Just make a NSIS launcher n upload it to mediafire. Name it "osu!Portable".LOL

How many threads like this have we had?
It's portable, and it has been since before I came here.
Either run the installer and select the USB drive, or copy your osu! folder over.
I'm not sure about osume.exe, since it was updated not that long ago. If the feature's still there, running it on a USB drive will install osu! to it.

Request lock, sticky or FAQ.

osume runs fine from usb. It updates itself and osu etc. I just copied it over.

osu!public works on my HDD.
For purposes of this thread I'd assume HDD is treated no differently from that of a flash drive.

As for test... never really tried running test with HDD.

Too bad my actual thumb is just a networking tool with no real space, otherwise I could give it a shot.

Also, hasn't this been determined possible months ago?
