Thanks for all the help on my previous post. I'm well on my way to surpassing where I was before, and I've moved up about 200k ranks, which is a massive improvement in my eyes. I've still got some questions, which I'll list below.

• All tips are appreciated, especially from veterans.
• When do I actually click the circle?
• How do I reduce latency?
• Where do I get a good quality CTH-480?
• Is a 144hz screen required for pro play?
• How to start playing 4 stars and above? (Getting out of my comfort zone.)

ありがとうございます!

When do I actually click the circle?

Audially - Try and time the hitsounds/keyboard-taps (whichever you prefer as audio feedback) with the music.
Visually - Looking at the UR bar, try and get your hits in the middle. If your hits show up to the left they're early, if they show up to the right they're late

How do I reduce latency?

For latency as in input lag, idk get better equipment I guess.
For latency as in that number in the bottom left of your screen, that's your frametime, or the time between each frame. It shows basically the same thing as your framerate. Honestly not too sure why people call that latency, I might be missing something, maybe I'm just dumb. Can't really say anything specific for this, if you search around there's probably guides on how to get the highest framerate on osu.

Where do I get a good quality CTH-480?

Idk. If you just want a good tablet then a CTL-472 is probably more accessible, I bought mine off Amazon.

Is a 144hz screen required for pro play?

No, but it can help with reading higher ARs, and it's nice to look at.

How to start playing 4 stars and above? (Getting out of my comfort zone.)

Push yourself to get better scores and improve on maps that are out of your comfort zone. Improvement will be slow and gradual, maybe every once in a while you'll feel yourself being ever so slightly better. If you're doing that and still not improving then idk, improving in this game is hard and I'm pretty sure no one actually knows what they're doing.

Sup bro,

When do I actually click the circle?
This seems pretty obvious but it's a rhythm game, you click the circle to the beat. Just listen to the song. There is no other advice to this other than to play more. There are things you notice later in the game which are audible cues (such as song intensity and mapper choices to rhythm) to when you should hit the circle but its way more important to learn these things by yourself as you play the game.

How do I reduce latency?
Latency is hardware issues normally, frametime in the bottom left of your screen can be lowered by setting your fps to unlimited or optimal. Your frametime is essentially your fps, I think.

Is a 144hz screen required for pro play?
No, it is helpful but no. Raikouhou is a top 100 player who got there with a 60hz monitor, a knock-off blue switch keyboard, and knock off mouse. He still plays with a 60hz monitor.

How to start playing 4 stars and above? (Getting out of my comfort zone.)
You start to play them. Nothing else to say here. My advice is to not stop playing them. If you give it one attempt a day and find you have no progress, it's because you only have put in one attempt a day. If you want to improve sr, start shredding on 4 stars and above. Doesn't mean you should go overboard, you might burnout.

Hope this helps lil bro
