osu! has been more enjoyable for me when I'm playing these random graveyard maps. I often start searching for maps by date after date and picking maps/songs that could be fun. I have also filtered the search by length, SR, OD and AR for more reasonable maps.
The quality of maps isn't always what you would expect from a normal-ranked map, but quality doesn't need to be good to be enjoyable. Quite often, you see miss-timed maps and random patterning, but after a long time of searching and play testing, eventually you will get a map that is good/fun.
You could also find some new mappers that you enjoy. Funny maps that you could put in multi or share with your friends.
