how to break past skill wall ?

for reference im struggling with rain diffs rn
what do i do in this case ?
do i play more converts ?
do i look for good unranked maps ?
do i keep playing rain diffs until i get good ?

you can try converts, unranked stuff and overdose, just play what you like

Try skins, play more maps that are above your comfort zone, and explore your preferred playstyle

what i did to get comfortable with (3*) rain diffs

1. played ar 8.5 to slowly get comfortable with ar 9
2. just spammed very easy 1/4 hyperdash maps like beatmapsets/542081#fruits/1207082 until i understood how to hit it
3. just grinded the easier rains more i guess, it's just a matter of practice as with anything related to playing osu

Try your luck in any tournament. It often requires from you to play maps or mods you wouldn't touch before seeing mappool and it often lets players overcome their's barriers

I think the biggest part of breaking through a skill wall is identifying what exactly is holding you back.

While yes sure you could naturally break through it by brute force methods if you can figure out what part of rains is causing you problems you can better focus your efforts.
