- This is a 2v2, ScoreV2, international osu! standard tournament with team size 4.
- No team member may have any tournament badge on their profile before registrations end.
- Each team's average rank must be at least 5.000, e.g. average team rank 5.600 is eligible, but average team rank 4.400 is ineligible.
- Teams are divided into tier 1 and tier 2, with one member from each tier needing to play each map, similar to a suiji-style tournament.
- Teams must have members all either residing within or with profile flags within the same time zone group. Further information below.
- The 2 tiers are Tier 1 rank 1-5.000 and Tier 2 rank 5.000-99.999, with no rank buffer.
- All players must stay within the rank range until the end of player registrations.
- The tournament will have a qualifiers stage first, then at most the top 32 teams move on to a double elimination bracket stage.
- There will be a bracket reset in the Grand Finals if necessary.
- The bracket stage will follow traditional seeding as follows: #1 vs. #32, #2 vs. #31, etc.
- Match schedules and mappools will be released at least the Sunday before those matches are played.
- All times are in UTC. Find your own time zone here. Alternatively, the current time in UTC is displayed on the main spreadsheet.
- Team captains must join the discord server. Your team's registration will not be counted unless your captain is in the discord server.
- Reschedules must be made at least 24 hours before the new match time. Reschedules submitted after this time window are not guaranteed to be accepted except in extreme cases (e.g. medical issues, sudden emergencies, etc.).
- Team names can be a MAXIMUM of 19 characters. This is so neither team name gets cut off on the stream client.
- Team names must not contain any slurs or otherwise intend to be bigoted, and they must not be disrespectful toward tournament staff. Any such names will be rejected and asked to be revised. If after one revision, the team is still submitting inappropriate team names, they will not be allowed to participate and will be blacklisted from all future tournaments I host.
- Teams must have members all either residing within or with profile flags within the same time zone group.
- Teams will exclusively be scheduled based on their time zone group and not their actual place of residence.
- There will be three time zone groups for this tournament:
- The Americas and East Pacific Islands (Americas)
- Europe, Africa, and the Middle East (EMEA)
- Asia, Australia, and Oceania (AAO)
- The Americas include North America, South America, and any island nations, territories, or other dominions east of the International dateline and west of North and South America.
- EMEA includes Europe, Africa, and the Middle East. All countries listed in the Middle East region may only play for EUAME teams despite some of these countries being included in the list of Asian countries in the next bullet point.
- AAO includes Asia and most of Oceania, excluding Hawaii, the Cook Islands, and French Polynesia as they are all east of the international dateline and thus fall under the Americas.
- Players from Russia may register for teams from either EMEA or AAO, but they will be scheduled according to the overall team region.
- A referee will make the lobby at least 5 minutes before the match. Team Captains or another designated member of the team must be online to receive their invites.
- No warmups.
- Team captains will !roll to determine pick and ban order. The winner of the roll chooses pick order, and the loser chooses ban order.
- If a team does not have at least one player in the lobby by 5 minutes after the scheduled match start time, they lose all their bans.
- If a team does not have at least one player in the lobby by 10 minutes after the scheduled match start time, they forfeit the match.
- RO32 and RO16 will be best of 9.
- QF and SF will be best of 11.
- F and GF will be best of 13.
- Each team gets 1 ban in RO32 and RO16 and 2 bans from QF to GF. Banned maps are effectively removed from the mappool for that match. In rounds where there are 2 bans per team, the ban order is ABBA.
- Double bans and double picks are allowed.
- Each team has 90 seconds to pick/ban a map. After a team picks a map, teams have 90 seconds to ready up for the map.
- Teams must always field one player from Tier 1 and one player from Tier 2 on every map.
- NoFail will be forced on every map to avoid the possibility of team fails.
- On FreeMod, the allowed mods are Hidden, Hard Rock, Easy, and Flashlight.
- On FreeMod, teams must use two unique combinations of the above mods, with HDHR and HR only being considered non-unique. For example:
- HDHR & HDHR bad
- HDHR & HR bad
- HD & HD bad
- HD & HR good
- Scores with the Easy modification will be multiplied by 1.8.
- You are allowed, but not required, to use any of the above mods on the tiebreaker.
- Teams may ask for a rematch if a team member encounters technical issues while playing within 30 seconds or 25% of the beatmap drain length (whichever happens first) of the game's start. Referees may, at their discretion, veto this request.
- The roster for each team during a rematch must remain the same as the original run. If that is not possible, e.g. by virtue of a technical issue that prevents a player from entering the lobby, both teams will be allowed to swap rosters.
- If a player disconnects mid-game, their scores will not be counted towards their team's total, unless adequate proof of said score is provided. See point 11 of the OWC 2023 rules for details.
- There will be qualifier lobbies open throughout the qualification weekend for each division; teams can sign up for whichever lobby fits their schedule.
- Each lobby can hold up to 16 players = 8 teams.
- Each lobby will have 1 assigned referee.
- The lobby will play through the entire map pool once in order, and your team's total score after every map will be recorded.
- Qualifiers will be played on Head-to-Head.
- Teams are not directly competing with the other teams in their lobby.
- Teams will be given points based on their performance on each qualifier map as a percentage of the best score on that map over the entire qualifying weekend.
- Teams' points on each map are added up to produce a total point score.
- The teams with the 32 highest total point scores will advance to the bracket stage.
- Registrations End: March 17th at 23:59 UTC
- 1-2 week buffer for screening
