I'm curious about the forum's opinion on this.
Are you guys switching? Why/Why not?

absolutely

visually lazer feels better and the gameplay is not even laggy. the only down side are the sliders, but it kind or makes sense

gonna stay here for a while :)

I agree with the switching, although it took a bit of weighing pros/cons.

One thing that threw me off was the possibility of lazer scores being erased (although low chance, it's not 0).

Essentially I'm still making the switch myself.

Im stilll thinking about it
I just hate the ui because of having no way to properly sort by rank achieved like in stable which is what i normally do ;-;
The mods are fun tho so idkkk

Not right now
Gameplay is fine, I just dont like the ui. Mostly because of the song select screen, now its too tedious to navigate, like the mods and stuff. And afaik theres no way to change or revert that back to like stable

No
I'm too lazy to optimise the settings to run on my laptop, stable works just fine without major changes.

I will at some point.

Currently I will not since scores can get deleted. I will switch when it 100% becomes the main client.
It might take me longer though since I do not like having to import everything, but I guess I will at some point.

No. Lazer does not allow my waifus on the skin (yet)

As of now, hell no.
My reasons
Firstly, the editor is not usable.
I'm a mapper/modder, and the editor not being finished is a big no go for me.
Sure it got basic functionallity, but most (or rather all) of the life improving changes stable had over the years have not been implemented yet. Even some of the basic functions do not exist in the lazer editor yet, such as addeing breaktime for empty parts, the HP drain will literally keep going, even if you have +20 seconds of not playing.
Also, lazer editor does not allow to upload a map, so I would still have to use stable for that regardless.

Seconldy, my laptop can't even run lazer.
My PC can, sure, but since my HDD died last November I've been stuck on my laptop and I can't run lazer on it, laptop being from 2005 is just too old it seems.
(No OpenGL support on device, so running lazer is literally not possible)

Thirdly, force of habit?
I've spend a decade with the stable client as is (since I started in 2012 without an account), and I really like the design and funktions of Stable over lazer.

Fourthly, certain functions not being implemented yet.
Main one comming to mind is: It's not possible to report bad behavior in chat through the lazer client, not even per !report command (it will show up for every user as a regular message and not alert the GMT), which in my opinion is a big downside for Moderation in general.

Fiftly, I don't like the HP system.
It feels too different.

im playing on stable 'til i reach 5 digit

okay not only that but lazer feels very very different when compared to stable (real)
shiratori1115
Never ever. Something osu!lazer gameplay feels off compared to stable, there is too much stuff on the menus and the UI isn't the one I know and love. If they ever close the stable servers I'll just play on private servers.

I found a video that showed how to set up Lazer so it doesn't lag. When I have the chance I'll try it out and see if I want to make the switch or not then

i said no to lazer the moment i realized there is no skin UI
map start screen is annoying and i dont like the design even tho its not bad, just a personal opinion

i wouldnt mind like up to 1.5 lag

Never switching unless they optimize performance for low-end. I've tried every setting on lazer and none of them make the game playable in the slightest. Also I personally think the UI is terrible, I hate hypermodern styles like that. I can get over the UI though, so I will switch if performance improves or I somehow obtain a 500$+ PC

Probably not because I really dislike the UI and slider accuracy. The good parts about Lazer are that notelock is severely toned down and you can rate adjust. I honestly don't care about rank at all so the fact that you can earn PP from lazer means nothing to me. I can get everything lazer has to offer besides the new mods on McOsu (McOsu honestly has a more intuitive rate adjustment also) which virtually has the same UI has stable. Not to mention you have to import everything you install on stable to lazer if you want them to have the same skins and beatmaps whereas McOsu just reads from your stable folders which means you don't have to import anything.

Not for actually setting scores, only for rate change practice. I don’t like how stable scores and ones set using the classic mod have a score debuff. It’s true that it’s technically harder to get good accuracy with slider acc, but the debuff also impacts scores which would have still been the same acc if they were set with slider accuracy. In general, I just don’t want to see historic scores overwritten and I can’t take the leaderboard seriously in lazer. I’ve also started to try mapping and I much prefer the stable editor.

you can download osu trainer to change the rates of maps instead.

I like having my plays count towards profile stats so I prefer lazer.

No, mainly because I disagree with the legacy score nerf, so it would feel bad to play it, but also because I'm an old boomer
