hi, my controls are on G, J for left and right and spacebar for dashing. I cant play ctb maps i only play converts cause my left hand hurts from dashing on ctb. If i play ctb maps more is my hand going to adapt or is it bad and i should switch controls?

why spacebar

The general issue with playing converts is that they aren't made with ctb patterning in mind and often features very unusual and unnatural patterns that can be very awkward to play especially once you start reaching around 4* converts I would say. It would be more realistic to play ctb specific maps for that reason alone but you can continue with converts if you find them more fun.

I also don't think really trying to get around an integral mechanic of the gamemode is an ideal thing to do in the long run as you are ignoring a core part of the game. playing ctb specific maps do a better job of slowing introducing the gamemode with each difficulty (Cup to Overdose) to you and a far more comfortable in terms of playability especially at higher levels as pattern complexity increases.

  1. I suggest slowly trying to build up stamina by practicing more dash heavy maps typically seen around platter level. Take a break if your hand start feeling a lot strain.
  2. You could probably change your dash and/or movement keybind to see how it affects comfortability.

if ppl play by both of hand for left and right, dash with space bar by thumb is natural i think

You can try to switch up your controls and try and see if it helps or not, if it doesnt then just go back or change to something else (but not too much)

Im pretty sure i changed my keybinds like around 3-5 times ever, and some of the changes did help from time to time

Like what Catzer said, try playing lower diffs first and getting used to the lower diffs and move next to higher difficulties, you can try to play around with mods and such to make some lower diffs harder and such

You just need to play and practice mor, its sorta normal for one to not feel comfortable on playing harder diffs due to the lots of jumps and dashes
So its best to let your hand practice and get used to it first, so it wont feel awkward.
