Well whatever it is I already requested an invitation, just to see what it is.
Yeah this is Google's next step toward their goal of conquering the Internet, for anyone unaware. They're replacing email (albeit with something better that does more) among other things.

I found wave pretty useless, and fell back to google docs spreadsheet during a collaboration session with friends. It is more like private alpha testing than beta (and also doesn't support opera).

I doubt you are FORCED to used any browser. I tried going with my phone which has the shittiest browser, and it recommanded me to get ff/safari/chrome but there also was a button to continue.
With the acid3 results I've seen from opera, I'm quite sure it should be able to render it quite well.
About the utility of it, I beleive it is quite useless right now since no one I really communicate with has it (well until now when I got invites and will actually get to invite my friends). So far it's been more about playing around than using it for something productive. But overall, if I did have my friends on it, I'd enjoy way more communicating on that with my family & friends than email1.0.

EDIT: And from what I've seen in your setup, you look very much like a web developer with your chrome/ie/opera/firefox/safara/ietester so I doubt you would have any browser problem.
EDIT2: nvm, looks like it doesn't work in my opera10.1 even though it gets 100% in acid3.

The only useful addon I have found is Firebug. That's one of two reason I have to use Firefox. (The other reason is to test things in Firefox.)
You just owned yourself? Why do you think Windows is so popular? It's surely not because of the shitty infrastructure that you have to format every other month nor for it's ease of use. You want to argue it, go ahead. Tell me what browser you use (Opera if i recall correctly?).
The only other browser I'd choose over FF is Chrome, which I love for it's mindblowing Javascript scripts (chromeexperiments anyone?) but it's lack of addons makes it very weak ATM. They are reworking the addon system though in Chrome4

Firefox's SpiderMonkey failed pretty hard actually.

When you sign up for Wave, you don't automatically get invited.
The first batch of first genners got invites directly from Google. They have the ability to give invites to second genners (like Ph0X), who in turn can give invites to third genners who can't give invites yet (like me (though I didn't get my invite from Ph0X)).

Is there a law of diminishing returns when it comes to number of referrals? I had 20 invites to hand out, but I've heard other numbers as well.
