Title, basically.


I will see how long I can keep this going and I will attempt to update the list as I go along. I'd like to ask that if you're replying to a question that is old to quote the original post with the question, so there's at least some level of organization in here.

The questions will be, mostly, about my interests, which are tech/computers and video games. Feel free to suggest new questions in private messages on osu! or on my email address.

Since we need a question to start the thread, here's the first question: What do you think of the osu! forums as a whole? Do you believe these forums will be around in the future or will it die? (Reply in the spoiler box)
I find them cozy, if a bit spammy, specially here. There are parts of it as well that have died, more or less, which I find sad.

I find they will be around, though, not sure for how much longer.

i think the osu!forums are nice, people are much nicer here than on steam
and that's why i feel like i'm actually appreciated here

i think they'll stay around, but i'm not sure if it'll be for a little while or a long while
only time will tell

The osu! forum is a big place and we feel good here! I've been here for almost a year and I still haven't lost the desire to reply and dicuss with other people :D

I'm sure at 100% that, in the future, there will be more people in the osu! forum and that it will be there for more than a decade at least

It's alright. People come and go while some stay here. People sometimes do it's thing and I don't have much opinion about it. If people are not replying in a serious manner, I'll do the same. As long as there's people actively playing osu, The forum will be around though I can't tell how the quality will be

about what patatitta said, as someone who was around from 2018, more or less, OT suffers from an identity problem IMO. it's very clear a shitpost forum, yet people in it very much just try to do whatever in the hopes it sticks as a joke and it ends up being a mixed bag. taking things seriously there isn't a good idea IMO. I did that and it only managed to make me leave twice until recently.

I do agree ot has an indetity crisis, but I do think there is currently a 2:1 rate of shitpost to serious, meaning there are a lot of serious posts, swiss people post, serious, I got the facking job, serious, night of spooky, serious, goofy OC's/last QNA, serious, my thread analyzing things, serious. I don't think we should be claiming that you shouldn't take anything seriously, same with back in like 2021 that people were complaining "oh this isn't lore this isn't good", OT is a mixed bag and will forever be like that, so we should just stop trying to try to classify ourselves as a wasteland or a shitpost space or a forum with incredibly deep lore

I also saw subjects like what loserotaku used to post in OT outside of OT for some reason (those posts are either locked or deleted completely)

yeah i think trying to define ot as being "for" a very specific type of post entirely misses the point of why it exists. it's a subforum for threads that don't fit elsewhere, and more broadly a place where anything goes (within reason). simple as that

There does exist stereotypes about 4chan, usually a lot of them are true. Satanism however, that's a new one.

4chan was originally an anime board. The name is 4chan, whilst it does stand for 4channel, it is a play on the honorific. The mascot of 4chan is Yotsuba Koiwai.

Question 2: How you got in osu! and what made you stick around playing/interacting with the community in some way?


I personally got introduced to the game by a romanian youtuber who began posting plays on his channel. I began playing because it looked cool and neat. It was neat and it still is pretty neat, though, I kinda let it sit for a bit.

I stuck around mainly because I like the game still and I thought I might as well chime in with the community. I made some friends along the way and I thought to keep being around still.

i got introduced by a friend of mine. ik he played it and when i got a computer 6 days after getting it. i remembered about the game and decided to download it.

On the other day, i was just searching for rhythm game in pc. osu to be seen on my search, downloaded it, and play. It was the same time I'm becoming a weeblet and vocaloid fan, I started to play osu std alone briefly back in 2018 then hiatus. Come back only playing 4k mania because I have keyboard back then, losing interest once I got into 5* then hiatus. Somehow taiko was cool so I briefly played them, losing interest then hiatus. Then come back again at december 2022 when I have a tablet and still playing to this day.

five years being a silent player to now actively replying others and other stuff

got introduced to the game by a discord friend in 2016, but at that time I didn't particullary like that person and I was 11 and OMG OTAKU SO CRINGE (haha), so I played like 5 minutes in another account and dropped it. Later, start of 2020, I was in the house on a irl friend (who also played the game with me in 2016) and went "yo I downloaded this game wanna try it out", we were like 4/5, and we took turns playing the song REANIMATE in standard, it was fun, after that I downloaded the game and the rest is history

some sort of a pass time game whilst waiting for geometry dash 2.2. i also planned on dropping osu when 2.2 releases but probably not going to happen. anyways i absolutely despise osu then, but ended up playing after a community member (aeonair?) played it.

cant believe its been 5 fucking years and it still hasn't released but the trailer just dropped and it will probably be out this month sooooooo

found out about osu! while the big black was making the rounds, forgot about it for a bit, then remembered it was a thing when i was starting to get more into rhythm games. i kept playing because i found it fun and wanted to see how far i could go (especially with an extremely atypical playstyle lol). i kinda stopped playing almost completely for a few months but i'm trying to make a comeback now

When I was in my animation meme phase, I discovered a lot of content creators on YouTube, and of them was tokaku

Her videos were so funny back then and I was interested in rhythm games in general, but one of them caught my attention more than anything else, and that is osu!

Now I'm interacting with people here because I like community! It's pretty chill and there are a lot of people which is amazing; talking with people in general made me stick around :D

I got here for a random youtube video back in 2013 where I saw a short gameplay and well... it raised my curiosity, there were just 5 seconds of gameplay but that was enough for me to install it.

As for why do I keep interacting, I made quite a few friends here and the community is... overall decent.
