Problem details: Whenever I download a beatmap or file, it comes up as a blank image instead of a pink music image, and when it asks me what I want to open it with, it doesn't allow me to pick osu.exe as an opening method, and it just reappears.

When I try and open it with osu.exe, it just comes up with C:/Users/User(i'm not going to put my name)/Appdata/local/osu!/osu.exe, with a blank image next to it

Can you post a screenshot of what you're seeing? You can blur our your username in it if needed.

Not sure what you mean by "blank image". I'm guessing you're seeing some sort of error message but I'm not sure which one based on your description.
