[Archived] osu does not open properly on laptop

when using a gaming laptop osu opens with an updater menu, displays the main osu logo, them my screen turns black and it closes, the only way ive managed to resolve this is by using a hdmi cable and connecting my laptop to a monitor where it displays perfectly fine, is there any ideas on how to fix this ??

You could try changing the resolution inside of Osu! while having it connected to your monitor, since the current osu resolution that may be used on your monitor is higher or just better than on your laptop screen.

If it worked, no problem.
If it didn't, just react to this message, i'll look further into it.

I actually had this same problem, since my laptop is a bit of size. If you follow the instructions here https://smallbusiness.chron.com/out-computer-resolution-53675.html you should be able to find out your screen resolution. What i did was i changed my osu! game resolution to the same one as my laptop WHILE playing on my monitor, and then once i switched over to just the laptop it was fixed.
