ok so ive been testing out ctb with a controller, using left stick to move and rt to boost

so far it seems significantly easier than keyboard but could it cause any issues in the future such as not being able to complete certain maps or something?
just wondering if theres a reason i havent found people doing it

I can't imagine this will be a good approach in the long run. The main issue is in alot of higher maps you have alot of rapid left-right movement. With a keyboard this is not an issue as you just quickly alternate between keys but with a stick you'd have to keep moving the stick back and forth and it would be slower. If you use the D-pad I could see it working but not with using the stick

Would it really be that much slower? I did some testing and honestly, I don't think that's something to worry too much about. It's really about alternating vs gliding (left/right glide) which if you train I think would be as doable. Perhaps for the top difficulties maps it would be harder as instead of doing left --> right as you would on your keyboard, you would be doing left --> neutral --> right. But if you flick fast enough maybe it's doable?

hm ty for the helpful answers guys, ill keep trying it cos realistically i just wanna get good enough to play all the songs i like and that peaks at like 4-5* difficulty (im not sure if thats what u guys meant by high difficulty but im just gonna assume not lol)

try using RB/R1 instead of the trigger. It will be faster

i dont know if this is a necropost this thread is like 3 months old but this forum is honestly so fucking dead i cannot tell
