Maps like this getting qualified just because the mapper is known is a real slap to the face to new mappers who at the very least try to get their maps ranked by following the ranking criteria. The problem isn't even that it's 10 stars, it's the beatmap nominators hypocrisy and unwillingness to use good judgment in the process of getting maps ranked based off the ranking criteria that was made specifically so that it's fair for everyone to use, AND to keep shit maps like this AVOIDED from being ranked. Now in their defense this isn't the common norm of mappers to map something like this often so as far as originality goes it's definitely an idea; a TV sized 10 star and weird tech patterns is an attention grabber but c'mon now, the slider velocity is out the window, the flow is worse than water and watching this makes me feel appalled SO MUCH that I guarantee I could map this same map 10x better. WITH PARKINSON'S. If you were a new player or casual player even just wanting to play the game, decided to download some maps to play and this is what was struck on you, you'd probably delete or remove the map. In no way does this specific map make the experience fun. Insane? Yes. Worth being Ranked? No. And the most depressing thing is that it's highly unlikely anything will change in the ranking criteria standards. As pishifat mentioned in one of his videos, a map is more likely to be ranked based on a mappers experience in other maps as a whole, and a lot of the time even experienced mappers have to make adjustments within the ranking criteria. So in this case, TLDR we'll probably just have to accept the fact that the quality of this mapping is trash, but not to say that all maps like this are. I wish the BN's could uphold the same standards for known mappers as with everyone else in regards to ranking maps more often, but who am I to complain when I'm just a random video commenter that plays osu for fun and doesn't have a single ranked map of my own.
