Beat map divisor doesn't work

First I should mention that I am VERY new to editing and creating maps. I have a problem with the beat map divisor: when I set its fraction, it doesn't work, and when I open the timing panel, there is still a 1/1 fraction there. It looks like it just doesn't applying...
What should I do to set it? Maybe there is something that does not allow me to set it :") ?

timing section always just has the white ticks visible, beatsnap divisor is in compose section, it just affects how many objects you can place in a beat. usually 1/4 is all you'll need.

dont use it to help with timing - if the white ticks don't line up with the song the map is timed wrong, you can hold ctrl while the song plays to also hear metronome clicks on the red ticks, or purple ones if in 1/3 or 1/6 divisor too though
