So... as someone who played DJMAX Trilogy, I got too used to the standard SD F/J KL style of key layout for 5K, same with 7K (even though I couldn't do it)
So when I play OSU Mania, I just use DFJKL since it's more what I'm used to and have gotten quite good at it.
However, I found I see a lot of players using DF SPACE JKL for 5K, and SDF SPACE JKL for 7K. (I know for games like DJMAX Online and O2Jam, that was like the standard)
I've been practicing over and over and over again and I just can't get used to it. Especially for 7K, since I just can't use my pinky fingers at all, (both muscle wise and just because my keyboard can't register it properly) I just try with SPACE.
I think it comes down to the whole thumb thing, there are certain patterns that I just can't hit using the same hand for the fingers and the thumb (vertical staircases/rolling mostly) and then I just epically fail.
I continue to practice a little every day, but once I get to a certain point I'm just unable to do it.
How did everyone get accustomed to using spacebar for 5K/7K? Was it really awkward at first?
