WELVMYUKA can you answer that post? Why did you "follow the vote" after people began unvoting Gam1A?

I AM VERY SMART, a Fire Planet decided to threw themselves outdide the chart (foreit). ... hmm, very interesting.
let's see where did they die...
oh, this, a sea of fake-double-taps, it seems they just want to die a little more easily

SamX500, a
Vanilla Tile, was hit by Ice Planets

let's see where did they die...
ah... a long-fast-straight road before a couple of zips, hoping the planets will be knocked out on the zips the next day...

I do not understand the Sam kill at all tbh.

Now that we know I AM VERY SMART is indeed scum, we need to work out who is their partner.
Hoshimegu Mio
Let’s take a closer look here.

Sam’s last action was to make an inquiry on WELUVMYUKA. This leaves some possibility for them to convince their teammate to help with taking a vengeful action.

I think the chance of GamlA being the other fire planet would basically be eliminated, as we can tell from SMART’s actions and the eventual forfeit.

Since Joon brought up the topic of bussing, there might be a possibility that the late ones on the wagon may be the other fire planet. Actually I think that would be quite a possibility since it may just be the final straw to cause the ragequit of SMART.

However, this is very much a game consisting of many new players so more advanced tactics may not be that much of a concern, though it would raise some suspicion on more experienced players (myself included).

Apologies for not responding to the game since its initialisation, I missed out as I had forgotten about the existence of this game. Moreover, I was inactive on the forums throughout the past months and I just realised that I had signed up for participation when I checked my messages.

I'm not completely invalidating this, but an alternative explanation for the Sam kill is to put pressure on WELUVMYUKA based on their inexperience in Mafia.

If this is true, this may raise suspicion towards the experienced players, but this is just another possible explanation and I may be overanalysing this

Hm, interesting, a lot happened during the night it seems. Considering the ice kill went through and fire kill did not, they clearly did not target the same person. Still not sure about all the rules, so can be wrong about some scenarios, but the following must've happened:
1) fire planet could not figure out who to target, which is quite possible due to IAVS dying;
2) the second fire planet member was/is inactive during the night and did nothing while IAVS is dead, which is also possible, especially because the night only ended AFTER the deadline;
3) fire planet actually did target someone and the town doctor saved them, seems quite possible, now we only need to consider WHO exactly was saved and WHY, but the doctor should probably not reveal themselves yet.
Rezq Gokou
Is it likely the doctor to save the same person? If yes, then the fire planet will change their target after that attempt

wait is it possible that julian is the other fire planet due to inactivity for day 1
Kobold84
To keep things fresh, let's discuss the ice planet actions, the kill of samX was far from random, as a player his remarks were concise and on-point, not to mention his experience with mafia in general, so to take him out was not just logical, but correct. Because of that I assume at least one of the ice players is somewhat experienced, definitely not their first rodeo. But that doesn't tell much, does it?

Does anyone have clues related to that night kill?

@Julian_Kaiser clear yourself
I haven't been online much because of too much busy things going around, and school and other activities.

Seeing the fire planet's failure to execute a kill on the first night, either:
•Golden planet protected the victim.
or
•Fire planet targetted someone from ice planet and bullet protection was effective.
else or,
•Fire planet did not target anyone.
I'm considering that one of the first two is more likely to happen.

Also,

Damn, all the vanilla tiles all killed by the ice planets
Kobold84
Interesting, interesting. So far, ice planet kills are very methodical, I can understand what they're doing and why.
But fire planets are weird, ignoring that no-kill moment first night, I wouldn't really expect them to come for Shaun last night, IAMVERYSMART actions on the first day were suspicious as well. I assume they had an internal fight at night #1, then the one left alive proceeded to kill Shaun, who was extremely inactive at the time, for whatever reason.

Now, as for the strategy for the current day I would propose to single out an ice planet, that way it's possible for double taps to reveal themselves later without much issue, which would massively help us. If you don't understand why, then it's simple: if double-taps reveal themselves with two living ices we won't be able to tell if they are real or if they're ice planets pretending to be them.

Not entirely sold on this idea of inactivity = vanilla, if the last game taught me anything it's that being inactive doesn't clear your status. "definitely not a scum" is a very strong sentence, but that's just wishful thinking, if anything that makes you suspicious.

I said "definitely not a scum" because gamla felt pessimistic at the end and decided to vote himself cuz he thought he would be voted out. That's why I doubt that he's not a scum at all. (But ngl his PFP really fits as a fire planet lol)

For that we'd have to notice connections between players or try to single out anyone suspicious. For the former, I didn't really notice anything odd, I think the winning strategy for them is to try to be as dead/neutral as possible during the day, because if we don't vote, there's no chance we get them and they will continue to kill us each night.

What you are saying is reasonable, especially the second part. I remember there was a similar pattern in Aireunaeus actions in a previous mafia game where he was a scum. All days were him saying something along the lines of "there's no one suspicious for me, I'll abstain from voting" and that led to scum outnumbering vanillas. Well the reason why i didn’t want to vote anyone out (even the people whom are inactive), is because there is a lack of evidence that they are a scum. I can’t just vote a random guy and they’ll end up as a vanilla type. If someone makes a suspicious move then i actually would vote them of course. I do confirm that just voting out noone is kinda a dumb move but I’ll be more active into finding suspicious and vote anyone. It’s my 3rd time playing an online mafia game.
nominomu
i'll stay out of voting for now until there's a stronger consensus, but any good mafia wouldnt just go "hey i'm the mafia!" in the chat or say anything that basically confirms they're mafia, its more about who's more suspicious than others, if no one gets voted out then the mafias won't get voted out, and the only way to stop the mafias is to vote them out

Just like nominomu pointed out, suspicious moves don't come out of nowhere, you have to use your words and your vote if you want to force people into unfavorable positions. Yes, certainly we don't want to vote out vanillas, but your vote alone doesn't get the target executed on the spot. See how much we got just from this short exchange? And no one died (yet). It's okay to be wrong, just find whoever's looking the most dubious to you.

But well, whatever, passive playstyle is fine too, but if the majority of players is indecisive like that, then the game is pretty much decided.
WELUVMYUKA
I have no idea who to vote, so I will just follow other

VOTE: Aireunaeus
Kobold84
I'm not saying you shouldn't follow my votes, but blindly doing that without agreeing with my suspicions or providing your own is not right too.

If I was a scum and then chose a vanilla just like that, you would execute an innocent person by bandwagoning. Perhaps it's better this way, instead of a slow death we get a few risky votes here and there, but it sure doesn't sit right with me.

Wait, does this mean you will be targeted as well because you are pretty active and experienced?

WELUVMYUKA is hit out by the Ice Planets and they are part of the Double-tap Tile.
that's the result of talking too little.
let's see where did they die...
WTF IS THIS, THAT'S FUCKING 21.2+ AND HELL.

Julian_Kaiser is killed by
Fire Planet and they are... an Ice Planet? quite strange...

Yes, it's true that I seem like a legitimate target, but this doesn't mean it is what will happen. Two possible scenarios that could be in play:
a) it's a ploy to make me seem as a scum, it also redirects discussions from "who is suspicious" to "why is kobold not targetted", seems simple but works well, I assume even if it's true there's some hidden meaning to it as well;
b) ice planet decided to not target me because they don't render me as much of a threat compared to a possible fire planet member, for example, who they are trying to get rid.

The second scenario also implies my deduction wasn't entirely correct when I was suspecting Aireunaeus and nominomu to an extent, but doesn't clear them 100%.
Kobold84
We now know Julian was a scum, so it'd be good to scrutinize their actions one more time.

Day 1: complete inaction (confirmed by being allegedly replaced by the organizator), this means whoever is an ice planet was acting alone on the first day and night. Not much information, but worth remembering. To me, that means that one ice planet scum was probably not as risky and spent the day rather passively, knowing full well their team is in a bad spot.

Day 2: Joon accused Julian to be a fire planet due to his low activity.
ClevelandsMyBro defended Julian and remarked how inactivity is more likely to indicate he's a townie. GamlA did not defend Julian, but asked about this accusation.
After a while ClevelandsMyBro decided to put suspicion on Julian as well (without voting however).
Julian defended himself and said he doesn't have a lot of free time currently, while proposing other options to who could be a scum. He also slightly accused GamIA of being a fire planet based on a post of IAVS. The latter to me speaks a lot, because his low activity does seem genuine and this accusation could spiral out of control very fast and put GamIA at a risk of being voted out. Not worth it, if he was his ice partner.

Night 2: Julian died.
Kobold84
Also I know this is risky, but maybe it's a good time for a double-tap to reveal themselves. If there's only a single person coming out, this means we have one less suspect off the list as they're 100% a townie. If there'd more than one however, then one of them is 100% a scum, which is also good for us and at the very least we can decide between the two (or even three? but unlikely) instead of trying to find the suspicious person among all of us.

Since we're 5 vs 2 right now, we absolutely have to get a planet today, because otherwise the very next day our number could shrink down to 3 vs 2, which is... well, you can imagine how bad that would be.

Why did fire planet killed him though? They could have use him as a decoy

Rezq wrote:

Not sure, did they even know he was an ice planet? Even then, he didn't seem very suspicious to be used as that. My assumption is that the fire planet mostly targets relatively silent players, I guess in order to remove people who are hiding? Or they know something I don't.
GamlA
Now we understand, because of Julian_Kaiser's murder, that the fire planets' absence of a kill on night 1 was due to the depletion of the ice planets' bulletproof.

And because of the ice planets never missing their target, we can say that Team Fire still has their bulletproof.
Rezq Gokou
Ahhh, so in the first night they targeted Julian but his bulletproof activated. So they know that Julian is one of the Ice Planet and targeted him again

thats me, im the other double-tap (or at least i claim to be)

or, they could have targeted the other ice planet, since its a factional bulletproof, if im understanding correctly? if they did target julian 1st night i wouldnt really see a reason to wait until the 3rd night to target him again, other than maybe trying to trick us into thinking they targeted the other ice planet first night

I see. I was thinking if the gold planet hit one of the fire planet in the first night and got killed in the second night so that will make sense. But I guess no

Ohh, that's a good observation, but as nominomu said this begs a question: why was Julian targeted on day 1 and then only on day 3?
Kobold84
No one else to claim the role of a double-tap?
Rezq Gokou
If in the first night of the game the fire planet targeted other ice planet, then they are fucked lol
