Hello o/

I saw this thread on osu!ctb and reddit but for any reason they priv de community, so i decided to recreate... with a poll ;D

Osu!std has many diversified skills to improve or avoid.
Each player are different from others, some have extremely facility to improve a certain skill and struggle in other.
Whatever, lets see which skill most players think is hardest/slowest to improve.


if you think something is missing on this thread, pls comment ;)

(My first try, even if few peoples enjoy this poll, i will be happy)

tbh nerves probably aren't related to skill at all. It could pretty much depend on the person and how well they manage stress.

Probably just overall consistency tbh, everything else you can spam out and improve but you have to be a bit careful how you play overall to become more consistent

streams is the hardest because some days you will just forget how to tap lmao.

consistency is easier imo because the more you get better at the game the more you will become consistent atleast on lower stars. like for example you are playing 5* maps and arent really consistent. someday you will start playing 6* maps and after some time you will be more consistent on 5* maps

Hardest to Easiest (in my somewhat spicy opinion O_O)

1. aim
2. reading
3. streaming
4. consistency
5. accuracy
6. precision

The only part that doesn't sound so hard is precision, because I like clicking small circles.

Also I hate reading anything above ar9...It makes my acc. nosedive into oblivion for tapping a bit late.. ;w; (Although reading super low ar isn't much better either..

I don't know how to exactly rate these categories, because there a WIDE SET of skills you have to overcome in a WIDE ARRANGE of difficuties, because like there a like over 100k ranked maps or something, it's basically endless.. ;_;

Hardest to Easiest (for me ig everyone's different):

Nerve
Precision - CS 5/6 can be pretty easy but it's really hard to be consistent on CS 7+ ime
Consistency
High AR Reading
Aim - I suck so much at aim it's not even funny
Bursts/Streams
Acc - If I can play a map mechanically then I find it pretty easy to acc honestly
Low AR Reading - This is like a hyperfixation to me at this point so I feel this comes pretty naturally to me. Low AR reading is definitely the easiest to cheese.

Hardest to easiest:

  1. Density (Low AR) - how?
  2. Streams - requires dedication and consistency, also has a lot of subskills (finger control, flow aim, stamina, speed etc.)
  3. Rhythm - takes a while to improve at
  4. Reading (High AR) - you need to practice being quicker at processing what to do
  5. Precision - aim but harsher
  6. Aim - just play the game and automatically improve

  1. Acc - not a skill or something you can improve in itself, just a result of your other skills
  2. Consistency - not a skill or something you can improve in itself, just a result of your other skills
  3. Nerves - not a skill but a mindset

streams is the hardest to get right because u gotta get the timing right with your tapping, and the cursor position right

my opinion from hardest to easiest to improve at:
nerves - pretty much impossible to 'improve' on
acc - yes im good at it but im not really improving at it
reading high ar - still cant read ar10 after trying for quite a while
bursts/streams - improves with time
aim - improves with time
consistency - improves with time
reading low ar - improves rapidly, i got a lot better at ez after only playing for a few days

(i dont play precision so not sure about that one)

How does that help me when it won't tell me why I'm late/early on a note? Especially isolated notes that have no rhythm to contextualize them.

(or it's DT and there's almost no way for me to smooth out my UR because it goes all over the fucking place.)

You can actually improve your nerves by "controlling" them when you play but I'm not sure

Honestly, Reading Low AR Maps is quite hard. That's why I never play EZ because of their size and their overly exaggerated amount of low AR they put. i like how they call it easy but in reality it's much harder than easy.
