  5. 00:15:637 (4) - there is not way to know how many repeats this have, remove one and add a circle instead

Just look at the hard diff, and I think this map aren't ready for rank, even ready for mods though. In my opinion, the hard diff is a mess. Perhaps you'd try to use the same spacing to place every objects to make it much cleaner. For example, 00:12:854 (4,5) - is 1/1 rhythm, but the distance between them shows like the rhythm is 1/2 (or even shorter). That would confuse the player, they can't even follow the rhythm to click the objects because those objects didn't be placed like "there's a rhythm". It's just something really random and no one will no which time they should beat it. For some more examples about this issue, 00:35:536 (5,6) - the spacing reduced in an awkward way, 00:37:248 (1,2,3,4,5) - suddenly the spacing comes bigger and smaller afterwards, 00:54:366 (3,1) - the rhythm is really weird, that (3) just ended at the blue tick.

Hope you'll get something and get your map better.

btw, you should add a new combo at 01:03:567 (5) - because the rhythm changes, so the players will know it.



Good luck on your future map, learn something from other people's map might be a great decision you'd like to go.

AR might seem a bit low, but its probably best to leave it at 5 so it balances the difficulty out. I don't think the normal should be any harder than it already is ;_;

Oh, that was purely because of just the huge amount of mods received in such a short time. I planned to do a mod reply for everyone, but then great someone screwed up our internet and we had to call AT&T and stuff. I'm gonna be doing mod replies for all of the upcoming mods now, assuming that there won't be any more random internet issues right before I post a mod reply.

I'm fine with the 1/4 slider, as it actually plays pretty nicely for a normal. The key note I want to hit is the blue tick otherwise there is no point even mapping that section.

  3. 00:20:771 (1,2) - This can be tricky to play for new players. They might be expecting to hit 00:21:200 - because its the last syllable in "never" so players might join that up. Easy solution would be to apply another 3/2 slider (believe me, these things can really make an Easy feel more comfortable!) | At this point you should try rearranging the positioning of these notes, maybe try different slider shapes etc to see what you can figure out.
  4. 00:24:623 - how about mapping to this? Try using a slider starting where 00:24:195 (2) - is and ending at 00:24:623 - | This will catch the key vocals and make it a ton more fun to play.
  5. 00:27:619 (3) - This is a bit large and a bit awkward, especially with the upcoming notes. Since the vocals are a bit complicated here, sticking with a basic 1/1 beat would probably be your best option. I suggest adding a note at 00:30:187 - (which is 5 in the screenshot) as this helps people skip over the vocals and follow the beat here.   9. 00:48:161 (1,2) - This will probably be more comfortable as a 3/2 slider. The vocals vary a bit here, so having this slider will help people realize they don't need to hit them.

  17. 01:21:328 - The (2) coming up is a very awkward note to feel and hit. It would definitely feel a lot better if you added a circle to this spot here to follow the drums properly.
  18. 01:21:756 (1,2) - These aren't a perfect flip of each other.. If you want to, Copy and paste the (1) in the (2)'s spot. then rotate it 180° by either going to Edit -> Rotate 90° Clockwise twice, or simply press the hotkey combo of Control + > on your keyboard!
  19. after that you may be wondering.. well how the hell do you get the tail ends to stack perfectly on each other? Simple. Control+G the (1) first. stack it on 01:21:543 (2) - , and the control+g again. Repeat for the next slider. If you are having trouble stacking, you can also look at the coords (see the earlier picture with the distance of each objects and that will help you know if the circle is placed properly on top. You can also click the coords and manually put in numbers as well. There are a lot of hidden things in the editor... and you'll slowly learn more and more as you play around with it.. For now this should be enough. Try a few of these out!

Sampleset is what you hear when you click a note with no hitsounds. For example. The soft noise everytime you hit a note, or if you look at my diff, on some of the clap notes, I use the Normal sampleset as a clap (which sounds like a drums snare and is most commonly used in drums as a 'clap' note.

back to basic hitsounding...

Additions are the sound effects you hear over top of the Sampleset you are using. These are simply. Whistles, Finishes, and Claps. Easy enough. If you use a finish, then you get a cymbal like effect. You can mix and match these around to your choosing. Or use custom hitsounds... which I won't get into detail about for now as you probably want to start using these on your next mapset or something.


Open my diff on normal.
  1. 00:13:924 (1,2,3) - (1) to emphasize the start of a new section of a song, or to fit nicely with the background sounds. A finish is generally welcomed. As you can see on (1)'s head, I used a finish. On the tail end of (1) I swapped over to the Normal sampleset which gave me a clap effect. http://puu.sh/80kWR.jpg | On (2) I started following the vocals a little bit with whistles to have more sounds. As the lyrics for "EVIL" come up, the whistle emphasizes on the note here. However, I don't do it on the end of the slider, mostly because it's not that important, would use the hitsound too much, and doesn't mix and match with the other hitsounds. The key is balance when using them. Try looking at this video for examples of overuse and underuse. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PFEYlQfiJHQ | Finally (3) which simply uses another normal hit as a clap.
  2. 00:15:636 (1,2,3) - same idea as above. nothing new here except instead of a finish on the new measure, I use a whistle again.
  3. 00:19:916 (3) - here I use two drum samplesets and then a finish to match the background drums a bit. Generally the Drum hitsounds aren't really needed, but the finish should be emphasized with.
  4. 00:22:483 (1,2) - more emphasized finishes to match the background sounds.
  5. 00:24:195 (1,2,3) - This is one of my favorite parts. I use a finish to start and then only use the normal sampleset for the rest of the notes. it's key to emphasize the vocals here and I found this to be one of the best ways to do so.
  6. 00:26:335 (1) - here I use a drum addition whistle to match the snapping sound in the background. While it isn't perfect. It does the job for me.
  7. pretty much up until 40 seconds, nothing really changes..
  8. 00:41:314 (1) - I used finish spam here to match them in the background.
  9. 00:42:598 (1,2,1,2,3,1,2) - as you notice here, I use whistles quite a bit. Vocal emphasizing is key because of how I followed them. If I remember correctly. you did this well enough already in your own difficulty.
  10. Again, nothing too special about the upcoming until the kiai.
  11. 00:55:436 (2,4) - instead of normal hits, I use drum hits. They're a bit softer and suit the song a bit better in my tastes.I think you used the soft claps for these.
  12. 00:56:720 (1,2,3,4,1,2,3,4) - I heavily use whistles to emphasize the guitar playing while not going overboard. I love this part as well. I still follow the drums a bit around - 01:01:428 if you click and look at some of the effects.

    and so on, so on. There are a few ways to hitsound, either by following something in the song, creating something yourself, and such. The biggest thing is maintaining balance as too much of one thing usually ends up sounding horrible by the end.
Lots of these ideas you can try for your difficulty, but it's up to you. I personally like using whistles to follow vocals which it seems like your diff might be happier with a few more in them, but go around and play with it until you get something you like.

If you are having trouble stacking, you can also look at the coords (see the earlier picture with the distance of each objects and that will help you know if the circle is placed properly on top. You can also click the coords and manually put in numbers as well. There are a lot of hidden things in the editor... and you'll slowly learn more and more as you play around with it.. I really don't want to add a note here due to how I've arranged his whole section to follow the guitar. There are lots of red tick starts earlier on in the song, so I think the players won't have an issue with this. I arranged the slider to look how it does so the players would have a better chance understanding it.

And about the NC, I'm not all for making it too pretty. I'd rather keep consistency over looks. thanks for the suggestion though.

Both diffs seem to have lots of new combo inconsistencies, so I recommend checking all these and make sure that NC's only start on the large white tick. A slider ends on a large white tick? Then NC the note after.

Easy

00:17:348 (1) - You should curve this so it's looks like a shorter version 00:15:636 (3) - and is at the same sort of angle. Doing this would create a nice symmetrical pattern that looks somewhat like this:

00:19:916 (3,1) - Bad blanket, try adjusting the anchor points of both sliders until you get something that's spaced well and looks like this:


00:23:767 (1) - You should move this 1/2 of a beat back and add a repeat so that you can catch all the vocals. At the moment it just seems kinda empty that there isn't a hitsound on these vocals.

00:26:763 (1) - Spacing error. This note is waaaaaaaaaaaaaaay to close to the previous one, so I highly recommend you move this somewhere that is spaced right. Easy's need to have consistent spacing.

00:27:191 (2,1) - Meh, (2) isn't perfectly centred with (1), so I suggest you move around some notes to see if you can get it perfectly in the middle.

00:31:043 (2,3) - I find that these sliders need to be curved a bit because at the moment they seem very bland. The cursor also doesn't flow well with 90 degree angle changes.

00:37:248 (1,2) - This blanket has a lot of room for improvement, so I suggest moving (2) to x: 376 y:155. After doing this I suggest you move 00:38:746 (3) - as well so it's on the same y axis as (2)

00:40:886 (1) -Add a clap here? I personally think it would sound better and less empty.

00:41:314 (2) - You could curve this in such a way that it blankets over 00:40:886 (1) - since it'll look nicer.

01:18:332 (1) - I think you should move this down 1/2 and then add a repeat because that way, the repeats would be hitting all of the vocals, rather than skipping a word which causes that empty feeling.

01:21:970 (1,2,3) - You should align these three to the same y axis so it would look neater.

01:25:180 (1) - As it is right now, this note isn't in a position where it would flow well, so I would recommend moving this to a place like x:120 y:352. Please remember to adjust the next two notes so it's spaced well and flows nice.

Hard

00:11:785 (1,2) - This square thingy isn't really a fun pattern, so try moving (2) to x:314 y:272 to make the pattern a more exiting shape. You may need to adjust 00:12:640 (3,4) - afterwards

00:21:414 (5,6,7,8) - Flow here seems kind of rough to me. Maybe you could make the end of (5) part of the zig-zag as well, like this:


00:26:549 (2,3,4) - This triplet breaks flow, which is bad because the flow has only just started in that section, creating an awkward feeling as you hit the notes. I would recommend a spaced triple, or a repeater slider.

00:26:977 (1,2) - Bad blanket, I'd suggest moving (1) to x:390 y:197 to fix this.

00:47:305 (1) - In my opinion, I really don't think this fits. It's overmapped and it plays funny so I think the map would be better off without it.

00:49:445 (3) - Move this slider up to x:267 y:202 so it can perfectly stack with the slider end of 00:48:161 (1) -

00:49:872 (4,5,6) - This straight line seems a bit uninspired, try moving (4) to x:157 y:184, (5) to x:115 y:115 and (6) x:115 y:34 so that there is a nice curve shape, that flows well and looks nice.

00:50:943 (1,2,3) - This sort of slider-square thing doesn't look nice or flow well. Either turn 00:50:943 (1) - into two circles, making it a perfect square pattern. Or you could keep the slider and move (2) to x:432 y:110 and (3) to x:478 y:175, creating a nicer looking flowier pattern.

Your hitsounds are super inconsistent. You should aim to follow the drums when hitsounding, so claps on 2 and 4 are super duper

Hard:
00:22:055 (6,7,8) - Overlap here is no good ;w;. You want to have things flow while also looking nice, so try to re-imagine this so there's no overlap
00:31:685 (3,4,5,6) - Match these up with the lyrics more
00:32:754 (1) - I know there's the thing in the music that does this, but think, what's the dominant thing you're hearing?
00:35:536 (5) - move this so there's no overlap
00:39:602 (1,2,3,4,5,6) - Make this a pattern that doesn't look explicitly like you couldn't fit the 6th note in

Umm holy crap. I got unsubscribed from this and didn't realize CDFA came by <3

About the complex rhythm. I think they 'should' be fine mostly because I have a 1.69 normal map.. wtf so easy.. so making it any easier is gonna hurt. >_<

The spinners I think are fine so... Erp. I don't think I want to make any changes.
