I know this probably belongs to "Help" topics, still those seems related to issues/problems directly linked to technical issues but not actual question like this, so Ill take the risk!

I`m pretty much ready to start streaming this game in good conditions. The questions I wanted to ask is wich platform Osu streamers uses (As Twitch is unlikely to be a place to stream due to music/copyright stuff).

Also I included "Setup" in the tittle of this topic, so to hear general recomendations, tips or things that I need to know before start.

Your time is well appreciated, many thanks!

If you aren't up for twitch then youtube's gonna be your best bet. Anything other than those options would be pretty risky since you'd barely or won't get any viewers if you were to stream on platforms other than those.

The osu wiki also has a small guide on livestreaming with OBS on twitch, but there are a couple of tip at the bottom of the article if it helps.

Twitch has generally been perfectly fine for osu regarding copyright, so far. Just need to watch out for uber popular english pop songs and the likes i guess. Twitch would generally be the best place by far, but yeah if you dont wanna then, what stomiks said^

If you want to become a professional streamer, I can recommend you these:

- Elgato stream deck 80€‎ - to ease transitions
- Razer kiyo pro webcam 60€‎ - for your keyboard cam
- Blue yeti microphone 100€‎ - high quality voice
- Razer blackShark V2 headphones 70€ - high quality audio
- Nvidia shadowPlay FREE - to record/stream your gameplay

And for the best platform to stream osu, Twitch is your best friend.

either YT or Twitch would be a good platform to stream on.

Both has it's pros and cons, but I personally prefer to stream on youtube since twitch is taking a massive cut out of your paycheck rn.

Wait, it's not Youtube that pays you less the streamers than Twitch something?

Uhh IIRC Twitch is making all streamer paycuts 50/50 *except for the absolute biggest streamers I assume*, which is the lowest amount as YouTube does 55/45 Creator/Site.
Could be wrong though, YouTube's video revenue share may be different to their streaming revenue share.

But what quite a few people are doing now (even some big Twitch streamers) is wait until their Twitch contract runs out and then multi-stream on Twitch and YouTube simultaneously. (the most popular tool for this being ReStream

Holy moly 50/50 is just awful... I guess the best way to earn money while being a streamer is to make sponsored streams for the viewers.

It probably runs better on a PC with high performances or something, or you just need to fix the issue in the settings.

ahh I see this topic is still here!

so in a few weeks, 1-2 months i will be live!
the only thing that actually concerns me is the thing about copyrights, so I seen a lot of Osu! players are streaming on twitch and google says nothing happens.

What is your opinion about this subject?
thank you so much!

as a twitch streamer for over 4 years (yeah I pulled the cringe credentials card)

you'll be fine. if anything they mute the vod (which is essentially a recording of your stream) for the copyrighted audio. no strikes, no complaints, just... silence in your recording.
Stomiks
I don't have much knowledge on copyright, but you can remove audio from your VODs on youtube if someone ever puts claims on a song you played, not sure about that for twitch but I'm pretty sure you can do that there too.

It's probably safe stream with such music, as I've seen many osu streamers do it themselves with no consequence. But if you really wanna make sure, you can delete the VODs after the stream ends.
