So over the past months, I've been noticing some huge improvement in my skill but about a week ago, I started having a downside in my skill and now I feel like a full dumpster of just rust along with today. I'm wondering if you all have the same issue and how you feel about it, and also how long do you think this stage last until you feel good enough to play again?

You are rusty forever.

That's normal. Sometimes you get a huge skillboost and you go back to normal. Nothing you can do about it but keep being positive and be thankful that a good day happened.

i highly recommend to stay active, you won't lose skill that fast. if you were inactive for a longer time, you'll definitely get worse and it's hard to come back (but not impossible).
i lost both stamina and aim due to inactivity + switching my playstyle and it's kinda depressing to not be able to play as good as before. it is what it is!

Lemme tell you that this feeling (in my experience) is universal for all games! If you figure out how to stop yourself from quitting for good let me know. I still haven't figured that part out yet.

doesn't happen so much in games that require decisionmaking/knowledge, those things you regain more easily than something that mostly requires physical conditioning/practice.

coming back to chess or dota 2 is a lot smoother after years than osu!, if you want to reach your old skill level.

That's true. I just don't get interested in a lot of games like that, because I'm a pea brain gamer.
