Tapping style

From what I know, some players alternate while others prefer single tapping and then there are many hybrid combinations. I usually single tap most circles and alternate sliders. Is this technique viable, do you use it? Are there even any top players that use this?

I usually singletap everything, even the sliders. If I feel like the sliders are too hard to hit, I'll probably alternate. But overall, I only use my index finger to click on the key

Single tap all the way.
But if I need to alternate, I will. I try to play a mix of heavy single tap and heavy alternate tap maps, so I am balanced in both of those skills.

I single tap unless I need to alt, basically. Full alternate doesn't work with my brain. I just kinda feel out the rhythm of when I need to use my second finger.

This is currently the technique I use. I works well for me but I think the reason it developed for me was because I kept releasing sliders early to try and hit the next when I would try single tapping them. Personally I would recommend practicing single tapping (on both fingers) and alternating. Knowing all the "normal" styles to an extent I think can help but in the end, you should just tap however is the most comfortable for you whenever you aren't explicitly working on tapping styles.

I would still consider myself fairly new to Osu though so don't take anything I said here as hard facts, it's just my opinion from what I've seen.

Singletap is easier to learn, but Alternating pays off in the future.

For examples: Alt maps, finger control maps, High BPM jump maps, etc...

Go for it if you don't encounter any problems with it. I personally think that you should just go full on alternate since it's pretty much what top players do when they play some really difficult maps where single tapping isn't enough to clear it.

i used to be a full alt player, had to switch to single-tap because i felt like it helped me a lot with rhythm
