Hello! This is the third proposal in my set of catch proposals. Each of these proposals are independent of each other for implementation, but some wordings may be interchangeable depending on whether finalized or not.

This proposal is aimed at renaming "Overdose+" in the Difficulty levels page. Currently, Overdose+ is NEVER used. I would like to replace this with Deluge (which is already widely accepted, but will be officialized if my Second Proposal is finalized.

We would be changing:

osu!catch
Cup
Salad
Platter
Rain
Overdose

This should be a relatively simple change (even more so than part 2) as this isn't adding Deluge to the RC, but instead adding it towards the difficulty levels naming.
Overdose+

to

osu!catch
Cup
Salad
Platter
Rain
Overdose
Deluge

part 1
part 2
part 3
part 4
part 5

That shouldn't be correct. Seems like Overdose+ was added back in https://github.com/ppy/osu-wiki/pull/2581
I did add Deluge to the wiki/en/Ranking_Criteria/Difficulty_naming#widely-accepted-alternatives so it should be fine to rename it on the difficulty levels page.

hi, I was messaged about this since I was involved in editing that page

for context, "Overdose+" was never meant to reflect an actual difficulty name, it was just to say "whatever difficulty at or above Overdose would warrant this icon", similar to the other gamemodes on that page besides taiko. if that wasn't clear already then maybe it was just a poor way to write it lol

also, I want to point out that this wiki page isn't RC; you don't need to make a proposal on this forum and updates/corrections are always welcome :)

I agree that replacing it with "Deluge" seems like best option now.

it's not exactly what you suggested, but the following pages have been updated in a way that hopefully resolves this issue:

wiki/en/Beatmap/Difficulty#difficulty-levels
wiki/en/Ranking_criteria/Difficulty_naming#default

Yup, moved to the Finalized subforum
