Are you looking to improve on a specific skill you have in mind? If you just want to improve all of your skills in general, then it's best to play a wide variety of maps that challenge you.
Personally I think you just need more hours.
Just play a variety of maps and see which patterns suit you best.
also do not play converted maps, they are not good.
If you don't know what a convert is, it is when you play a map that was originally created for the standard osu mode. But since you play on mania, the map will be converted automatically.

Professional mania players have at least 500 hours, i think it translates to about 20 days of playtime. Most people say play more, but there are some specific things you need to practice for different people.
If you are getting less than 90% acc on each map, you need to practice accuracy,
where as if you watch a replay of yourself and you're missing all the long notes you need to do more LN practice
