How to make animation for mania-stage-hint?

The mania-stage-hint.png is animatable in wiki. How to do it?
I made mania-stage-hint-{n}.png, but that does not work.

It's not animatable, at least the spreadsheet doesn't say so. The status is probably the result of the wiki not being maintained.
