What program is better to use? I am in a course learning Ableton 11 though I have already purchased an FL Studio Key. Does anyone have experience with either one or both? I am curious if the stuff on Ableton is similar/transferable to FL Studio. I don't wanna pay for another license just because I know Ableton better, and I am banking on the hope that they are similar.

Should be pretty preference based, using FL Studio after learning Ableton shouldn't be too hard to adjust to, but they might feel a bit different. I use FL Studio, and some things Ableton has going for it makes me a little jealous, but I'm sure there are some reasons why you might like FL Studio more as well.

The session viewer is my main draw to Ableton, as its really cool to have a separate place to edit sounds rather than in the arrangement itself. Maybe FL has it but I haven't looked into if it does or not.

FL supposedly works on Linux with WINE and some other dependencies. I'd rather use something like Ardour.
