Who is the genius that decided that it is a bad idea to have a section in the forums where people can request specific songs to be mapped?
Why is it prohibited to ask for a song to be mapped? what harm does it do (and to who)? For every rule there must be a reasoning behind it, so what is the reasoning for this one? Not all mappers know all songs in the world so it is very likely that if they see a list of songs that people want to be mapped they find a song that they didn't know about, like a lot and choose to map it voluntarily.

Also, there could be some kind of voting (similar to loved beatmaps) so that there are no duplicate submissions and mappers can see which song is the most voted by the community and therefore, IF THEY WANT, map that song or any other song in the list, it doesn't matter if it is the most voted or has 0 votes, but at least there is this option.

Let's see if i can get an answer that makes sense and explains why it is so evil to have a system where we can propose songs to be mapped! Ty in advance

because otherwise the forums will be flooded with such requests, and it would be hard to find actual questions and stuff, let alone bother to find them in the first place

well there's no harm done by having a map request section, but since there's so many people with requests, the map request section would get bombarded with like 50 requests a day, or at least more than modding queues, so the chance a mapper actually taking your request is incredibly low

I think you're overthinking this

feel free to prove me wrong if you have a source that says otherwise, but I doubt anyone with the power to do anything about the issue has actually decided that a map request subforum shouldn't exist

it's more likely that it just doesn't exist because there's virtually no demand for it from the mapper side, which is the only side that actually matters because the forum would be worthless without mapper attention

Nah, google is easy to use. There are lots of song references when mapper wants to map a song.

Probably you forgor to read the Forum Rules.

plus if someone has mapped enough to be able to make something others would want to play, they probably know plenty of songs they personally want to map and the genres they prefer.

and there's nothing stopping mappers from requesting songs to map themselves - its been done before, its just asking for other mappers to map a song that's against the rules. its purely to stop a bunch of threads that just wont get their songs mapped flooding the forum.
