What does the osu! community think of technical (wub) maps in the present? (osu! standard)

From what I've seen, people had very mixed opinions about technical maps a few years ago. Is it still the same?

everyone likes these maps from what i've seen, unless the map is in those new-gen a***** tech style, but even then there's alot of people who enjoy those maps
