[Archived] Osu! Not opening after update (Mac)

Problem details: I was going to open the game as usual and it worked until I saw the little update symbol at the bottom. I thought nothing of it and clicked it. After it finished updating it would no longer open. I decided to see if this might be a problem with my files so I re-downloaded the app from the official website and repaired it using the macOS Agent. Again, it refused to open. I'm not sure what happened and if there is anything I can do at this point. Please help if possible thanks!

Edit: Problem has been resolved. Seems like a change has been made and the update has been fixed so that osu opens now. :D

Can confirm something similar is happening to me, normally I've patched the updates without issue but something went wrong with this one (I thought at first it was because I was breaking something in the editor). Whenever I open the game, I get through the update fine but if I leave the game open for more than 5 seconds, I have a huge lag spike and then the game crashes. Tried reinstalling the game as well only to run into the same issue.

Glad to hear I'm not the only one having issues with this update.

Funny I was just about to post about this happening to me. Here's what happens on my screen, sometimes it says there's a change in beatmaps or something.https://photos.app.goo.gl/tQFTxQxNu1dzaFao9[

Same issue here, both on my Linux and MacBook

Looks like an issue with wine

I have the same issue in linux 5.15.86-1-lts using wine or wine-ge-custom
this is the error wine gives:

err:seh:NtRaiseException Unhandled exception code c0000005 flags 0 addr 0x7bc581b4

update it let me open once but I added beatmaps and now it doesn't work.
