Its the combo burst
wiki/Skinning/osu%21#comboburst
most modern skins make it invisible so it isn't distracting
and I think the combo burst option is off by default too.

i used to use combo bursts but you can be distracted a bit but also it can cause lag spikes so thats why i stopped using em
We've learned how unviable waifu combo bursts were in the osu! meta, so we stopped using them.
