edit: you can also refund pretty much infinitely if you find that a game doesnt run. Just say that the reason is that the game is 'not fun'

You can use this website, it's quite helpful.

Apparently you can run GTA V or Overwatch just fine.

Same. It's probably telling you if you CAN run the game. Not run the game with good or acceptable settings.

That's risky. I personally would've pirated it to try it first before I actually buy it.
Jangsoodlor
Chrono Trigger
Final Fantasy (of older releases like VI VII VIII IX X)
God of War (the OG version, may require PS2 emulator*)
FreeCiv
Touhou

Other than that, any PC game older than 2010 should work.

If you want to play console games, RetroArch can emulate everything from PS2 and PSP downwards. But from MY experience, I suggest using PCSX2 for PS2 games , PPSSPP for PSP games, ePSXe for PS1 games and RetroArch for anything else (SNES and stuffs).

If you think old console game graphics are bad, upscaling your game may work. But the performance is questionable at best.

idk roblox worked for my old laptop
npc_BeaniCraft
any source engine game
StarlightFox
Minecraft worked fine on my old laptop if you're into that. And as Beani said most source games can run perfectly on even the worst hardware. If you like the classics, the original DOOM is on Steam, as well as Cuphead which isn't very graphics-intensive.
