While in most cases the anime adaptation is a watered down version of what you see in the source material, there are a few cases in where the anime was way more enjoyable or better executed than the manga. Have you seen any case of this? For example, in my opinion, the anime of Yojouhan Shinwa Taikei was far better executed than the novel was.

I'd say the anime adaptation of bocchi the rock beats the manga. It's pretty obvious, but the anime can get pretty creative with expressing certain scenes or characters. Sometimes bocchi will be watered down into simple outlines, the scene would turn into live action, and such. While the manga version is really restricted when it comes to getting creative. They're confined to a still image, often relying on movement indicators and such to portray sudden action or other expressions and not having enough freedom to break their limits as much as the anime does.

High School DxD was just as good as the Light Novel of the same name, but was destroyed by Season 3 (High School DxD BorN). Now, Studia Passione has the rights to produce DxD since Season 4 (High School DxD Hero).
