I'd choose SAO for awesome animation and gaming mechanics, I'd watch AoT for the blood, titans and potato girl.

I prefered Sword Art Online. I really didn't find the story if AOT interesting, and none of the characters seemed developed to me. The only thing I actually enjoyed in AOT was the fighting scenes, and even those got repetitive and boring towards the end. I can't really explain why I liked SOA I just really enjoyed it.

Just in my opinion, I think Attack on Titan is better. Attack on Titan had awesome arcs and characters. I also enjoyed the characters traced in different thicknesses of black, but I really liked the animation of SAO. In Sword Art Online, the characters (in my opinion) are very poorly developed. It also just sort of turns into a Harem.

I would have to say SAO if you forced me to pick, I basically suffered while watching AOT just so I wouldn't get a second dropped anime in MyAnimeList.

Attack on Titan is a very good Anime with very much Potential ..
The Story is very interesting but it is too much splatter/blood etc (I don't think it is very fatal but some might think it is just a horror Anime)
But there are unexpected Events and real Feels trips, i like it
Also it is very exciting and fascinating..
Sword Art Online was good until the ALO(Alfheim Online)Arc (The Idea with Asuna and ALO was good but it wasn't implement good..)
Also they could do more with the LVL/MMORPG-System on SAO, but that was missing too..
Kazuto's Sister ''Arc'' wasn't that dramatically at all..
But the end of the first Episodes were good
I'm waiting for both Anime's second Season!

Because the plot of SAO seems more interesting, like the gear, triangle love (maybe or multiple?), the battle (but seems unreal, because it is the game and I like it), etc.
Attack On Titan though I think has more logic plot and setting than SAO, I don't like the storyline.

Haven't watched Attack on Titan. As for Sword Art Online. I watched 5 episodes and then couldn't take it anymore because I really disliked that anime.
