Tbh I'm trying to improve my play everyday but it seems that I can pull off a really good play once and then never again. Would that be improvement? I don't see myself improving at all, it all seems to be the same. Am I just not seeing myself improve or am I actually stuck

Here you go, this post is one of my first posts here and I was really bad at the game and I felt the same way
community/forums/topics/1589743?start=8662707
but basically just keep playing and pushing through, you will get there eventually.
Improvement can easily be your Marvelous to Perfect ratio increasing, from going from 95% on a song to getting a 97% instead, or even getting from rank 170k to rank 150k can be an improvement aswell, (I know rank doesn't equal skill but it's a decent option of getting an idea where you are in terms of skill).

Thank you actually for this
Now that I've thought about it
I think I'll just focus on having fun and stop worrying about improvement
(Idk why your post prompted me to think like this but thank you anyways)

Could be both. If you have high standards of improvement, then you'll never really appreciate the 1% acc you gained on a map. And since you're only a 6 digit, you will experience walls that you have to overcome. Usually if you do, you will expect to gain a huge boost in skill.

My only issue is I don't really know whether I've hit a wall or not.
Cause I can play one map that seems harder but then do worse on one that should be easier??
I'm bad at telling, I guess I should more ask what to look out for?? If that makes any sense

If you feel like you can't improve or get higher acc at the maps you play at your usual rate, then you've probably hit a wall. And you can't trust star rating. Most times they aren't accurate to a maps difficulty so it's pretty normal to have better plays at higher star rating than lower ones. Also keep your skillset in mind. Playing something like streams might be easier for you but doing jacks could be harder.

Oh hey can you refer me something or tell me what these terms all mean?
I know what jacks are but my familiarity with the terms for stuff in maps is limited due to me playing a bunch of fnf and not learning what things were
;-; sorry

improvement can come at a very slow or very fast pace. Sometimes you're just having a bad day and then the next day you could be 3 times better than you were just a few days ago. sometimes you just can't improve for a while but you'll improve the more you play. just don't play everyday for like 8 hours cuz you'll just get worse and breaks are extremely necessary

I can relate to this. Let's take it slow and enjoy the ride. ^_^

PS: I'm so noob on this game. XD
