Hello everyone! I've created a list of countries based on number of players in top1000 global ranking.
I've done that 5 years ago as "CWC potential". Some things changed for sure and I've attached ranking from the beginning of 2018 in same document as a second sheet named "31.01.2018" so you can see what's different!

Link to spreadsheets below!!!
https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1j1rIGAHY6aOOy-IjoYeB1mmr0dra7zT8XhWVUt5iS78/edit?usp=sharing

In sheet you can see number of players from each country which is represented in top1000, and if they participated in CWC since 2014 till 2022. (Bolivia has not players in top1000, but took part in 2014CWC so it's included in the list).

Even though you can participate in CWC if you are ranked at least #5000. In my opinion stats for #1000 are more reasonable because with lower rank you would probably have difficulties to perform well at world cup (but I agree, there is few 4-digits players who are much better than 3-digits!).

Few things I noticed in the list!
USA has the most players ranked #1000 or better - currently 71
51 countries could create team of 3 players with rank #1000 or better
37 countries participated in last CWC from which 1 has not 3 players in top1000 - Algeria
Venezuela (17), Romania (7), Uruguay (5) are countries with biggest numbers of players in top1000 but didn't participate in last 3 CWC
3 countries never participated in CWC even though they have at least 3 players in top1000 (Greece, Belarus, Ecuador and 2 more countries participated only once with same circumstances Uruguay, Saudi Arabia.

*inactive players but appearing in ranking are listed.
*7163 pp was needed to be in top1000 at the moment when list was created!

Share your thoughts and comment what do you think about your country position in that list and if it's not listed then what are the chances we can see it there soon :D

In the early years of CWC countries were allowed to have a B team. Just out of curiosity if you included teams that had two teams

It depends on each country's team. Like for example, if I want to join the US for CWC2022, I would need to get in the top 500. And even then, it doesn't gureentee me a spot.

I mean I've been top 200 since 2019 and have tried out every year for USA team and never made it on the team. It's not just about your ranking but also "marketable skills" You need to have a purpose on the team and a benefit you would bring. Nobody wants a person that would never be the best choice on any map in the pool.

It is said in the spreadsheet that I counted CWCs starting from 2014 because before that year countries could merge to build one team. At that year and after there were no B teams.
