I pretty sure this PP system is based on black magic

Me: "Wow, I think I played better this time, had a very good ACC for the most part and got lots of perfect 300, did I win PP?"
Osu: "Well yes! But actually no."

I mean, even if some part of my gameplay was actually worse, what is the point of showing me all these things that apparently do not matter, and keep hidden the real thing that is being judged to decide my ACTUAL ACTUAL performance?

It doesn't matter how I look at this, I can't figure out a single way that this could feel right to the player, im going to start praying to gods, doing a little ritual dance and sacrificing my newborn child to see if the PP calculator gets happy with me everytime I might get a highscore.

You 100% did not understand my post.
I did not lose rank because players surpassed me, I lost rank because even though I bested my previous score in apparently everyway, my overall PP went down.

If it was other players surpassing me, my total PP wouldnt be red as well.

Also, that's more ranks lost than what I might lose over several days, let alone the duration of a 2 minute song.

Well, I don't really know why then

Getting more top plays can gain them back, hopefully

P.S. maybe try to get more S in your top plays, that's probably also one of the reason your pp goes down

What I do to solve this is that I use a different mod combination from the one currently in my top plays.

BTW pp is now completely based on your true accuracy, which can be calculated as follows:

acc = (maxcount * 320 + 300count * 300 + 200count * 200 + 100count * 100 + 50count * 50) / (objectcount * 320)

Thats what I've been doing, when it's normal I do mirror and vice versa, and this still happened.

And the game shouldn't just show the "true acc" instead of what appears to us? I don't understand the point of that.

It seems that your map pp went up though. Maybe there was a random hotfix update that somehow changed some of your top plays’ pp value. I have no idea how this could’ve occurred though.
