I have this crappy PC. No-one thinks it's good for any other game than osu!. I get 100fps, but I wanna get 300 :P

Specs: Windows 7 64bit, SP1, 4GB RAM, Intel (R) Pentium 4 (R) 3.0 GHZ, 3.4 rating.

Is it good? :3

Welcome to the forums!
This is the Introductions so you should be introducing yourself here.
Next time, use the General Discussions for this kind of topic.

Anyway, That seems nice already imo. Try to update/upgrade your graphics driver and it might increase.

Enjoy your stay

why in the world would you want to run 300 fps? your eyes cant capture more than 60, and your screen most likely cant capture more than 100, unless you have a super screen. getting higher fps would also result in your gpu running hot and by worst, getting overheated which would mean malfunction.

your pc is more than fine enough, and there is no need for 300 fps.

It (kind of) influences input delay. I would say ~500 is more than enough.

Would recommend having a good graphics card.

i know it does

but who the fuck wants to burn down their pc for a fucking game

It's fine, I've been playing osu! on a machine worse than this, and it's still running smooth (need to disable SBs and stuff though).
Still ~100fps

64-bit Win7 on a P4? orz

And I hope you have Aero turned off...

You don't need so much fps if you don't have a monitor that will display that many frames. Lock it at 60-120 for consistancy, you'll be fine

No it's not good enough.

Some people have higher standards, also, you shouldn't greentext on the forums, makes you look like a kid.

my computer has Windws XP SP3, 400 MB RAM, nVidia card 256 MB video and it has an AMD Athlon CPU with 1 core. it works fine, but sometimes the SB lags terrible

isn't that the entire point of greentext?

The single dumbest thing said ever. Eyes don't work on an FPS basis.
Go turn on vsync and tell me that's just as good as playing with 1400 calculated fps, I dare you.

thats a personal preference,

just saying.

My computer is worse than OP. Way worse (Same specifications but an AMD Athlon 1-core 1.6 GHz instead of a Pentium 4). I can smoothly run osu! without video, regardlessly of storyboard at vsync. Anything else makes my computer lag terribly so...
Frizz
At least you don't use on-board GPU like I do OP.
Or do you?

Nathan, Osu can be played in ALL hardware. If you have good enough graphic cards, you still can play. Oops....

I guess you're talking to me (from the first reply), yeah i know it can be played by any.
Also, why bump a 3 month old thread?

You can play osu on the shittest computer out there, there's really not much of a difference. You don't need a hardcore gaming computer to PLAY osu. Only if you want to STREAM Osu on Twitch or anything like that
And then you need at least 500 kb/s upload

This will sound really mean, but that computer is really weak. It's slower than my late 2005 desktop, which gets a stable 180-ish FPS at 1024 x 768 when I don't have any background processes trolling me and there's no SB or video. I cap it at 120 so my keyboard doesn't glitch, though. Now I use my new laptop which is actually a lot faster.

Save up for a new computer. You could get a dedicated graphics card, but that CPU's so old that you're better off just saving for a new computer with at least a third-gen i3 or better. The integrated graphics card in third-gen i3s and better will easily meet your FPS goal. However, what I would personally do is wait for the next wave of intel CPUs come out. If you start saving up now you should be able to afford a computer with one of those babies. You won't even need a dedicated graphics card to flat-out destroy your FPS goal though if you're getting a desktop you should eventually get one anyways.
ztrot
gonna have to agree on this you can even get a nice net book that could run osu! now days for around 150-200$

Why would you want 300 FPS? Your monitor probably caps at 60 FPS anyways.

The computer itself is an old clunker, it would probably blow up running modern games. Osu isn't really a demanding game, so getting 100 FPS on that hardware isn't really great.

Even if the monitor will display only 60 FPS, the game will still calculate your mouse's movements at 300 FPS. It's not a big deal, though.

Being able to run SBs and videos without lag, though? That's pretty nice. ~

I can clearly see a difference when I play games on 60 fps and then have 300 fps.
higher fps better anyway, doesn't matter if you can see the difference or not

I think your computer spec is already good.
you just need better graphic card.....
i suggest you for using nVidia ;)
MrBakpao
i think it's ok, it's better than me with windows xp that just 110 fps~
i'm using intel grapich chipset family.

Oh god why~_~
