I always thought the PSP KH looked better off than the DS one, but I guess the PSP one took a backseat for the DS one to come out.

Difficulty curve is pretty volatile though and goes from not-challenging-at-all to die-in-one-hit, usually without warning. Combat System's better than the rest of them, which I guess is the point. The only drawback is that it's on a handheld system and I can't play handhelds for long periods of time.

I'm actually planning on playing the Kingdom Hearts series starting with 1 and 2 and then going into Birth by Sleep since I own a PS2 now. But only after I finish Okami which I'm not sure how long will take given I'm constantly distracted by the presence of iidx, DDR, and school.
Is this a good order to play them, awp?

Chain of Memories takes place between 1 and 2. Unless you want to skip that then go ahead.
Release order is KH1, Chain of Memories, 2, 358/2 Days, Birth By Sleep
Chronology order is Birth By Sleep, KH1, [358/2 Days, Chain of Memories,] KH2.
Note that Chain of Memories actually takes place about 1/5 of the way into 358/2 Days. Technically 358/2 Days starts before CoM but ends after it.
Ideally I think it should be played in release order, but if you're actually interested in the whole 'universe' you'll end up replaying the older games anyway because there's some stuff in the older games that you'll probably miss until you play the later ones.

Finally got around to finishing this the other day. This game pretty much renewed my faith in Kingdom Hearts as a whole. Aqua needs an entire game all to herself, though.

My Friend has that game and started on proud mode and beat it. Then, I built a house out of crap bricksLOL
I started out on Critical because every other game, apart from KH2FM+Crit, was piss-easy. With the wrong set-up KH1 had imbalanced difficulty until level 30, but overall still pretty easy.
For once I was proven wrong; this game kicked my ass several times in the first run, and so far a handful of times in the second.

Try the mirage arena; one of the battles unlocks Report 5 when you finish it.

I got the game in October and as someone who is...slightly in the hatred side (I hated the way they "altered" the Final Fantasy series characters), I did find the game enjoyable.
