There's no place for requesting beatmaps, because when there was a thread for that, almost none of the requests were fulfilled. Making a beatmap takes time, so people aren't likely to put in a lot of work for strangers. Friends, maybe, but you should really keep the requests to friends, or learn to make your own map. For those who are capable of cranking out maps on a whim, they're probably already busy cranking out other maps.
I've posted this because many people seem to be incapable of reading the pinned threads before posting, with one of them saying "Please read before posting!" It seems that people need an explicit reminder in the list of threads, because many people get too excited about posting to read some threads first. This is understandable, but it shouldn't happen.
To quote a wise hivemind, "lurk more."
DEEDIT: To add another reason, seeing these posts come up time after time gets annoying and, to the community at large, these threads only tell us who's ignorant or doesn't think before doing something. That's not a way to endear oneself to a large community such as this. This post may appear harsh, but it's nothing compared to the kind of stick that some people receive on a daily basis. Use your head around here and you'll be fine.
