Since we have been growing as a forum with recommendations and various opinion threads, I think the next logical thread to make in this forum is to vote for anime of the year. However, just having anime of the year is a bit restricting, so there are also be a bunch of other categories to make this more fun for all of us.

Best Anime
Best Anime Song

Minor Categories: (1 vote)
Best Action
Best Comedy
Best Drama
Best Male Seiyuu
Best Female Seiyuu
Best Male Character
Best Female Character

Rules/Notes:
  1. For animes to be qualified the election, it must have aired some time in the past year (winter 2013 season to fall 2013 season) in some form anime/ova/movie. Because movie releases take so long to reach the international audience, movie nominations are allowed if they either aired this year, or was brought to BD/DVD for the first time this year.
  2. For character/person/song to be qualified for election, he/she/it must have appeared in an anime/ova/movie in the past year (winter 2013 season to fall 2013 season).
  3. For the major categories, you are allowed to vote up to 2 different animes/songs, but you are not allowed to vote for the same one twice. This was made so that you can settle any toss up or ties in your mind.
  4. Anime songs are any songs related to an anime, including opening, ending, insert songs, character songs, and OSTs.
  5. Best Action/Comedy/Drama are just subcategories of Best Anime, so feel free to put whatever you put for Best Anime in all 3 categories if you feel it was justified.

While it is November, basically all animes have aired this year, and I was planning to get this done before 2013 is over. Results will be collected over the course of the next month and hopefully reach a nice conclusion by mid December when the season is over.

Well if it's a battle of popularity, I'm guessing Shingeki no kyojin will win best anime and best anime muric.
I'll start it off then

Best Anime Song: Just One Life- SPYAIR (Samurai Flamenco)

Best Action: Attack On Titan, because all other action sucked. Or more like I didn't really watch that many action.

I seriously doubt having the fall season finish will make a difference. If you were planning to vote for a fall season anime, you probably have a very good clue by now if it is a contender for any category. Also, I am not forcing anyone to vote now. I plan to keep this open till the end of year, so feel free to amend your votes if your opinion changes.

Since the winter season usually begins early January for most shows, most sites seem to label the first season of the as winter, so Winter 2013 should be right. (If you have proof of otherwise, I will be happy to change it)

Seems someone else was editing the document the same time as me so hopefully nothing screwed up in the formatting when I did everything... I'm still not great with the using document / editing it... x.x... Tried to edit the borders so it kept the document looking nice but I had issues because certain borders wouldn't go away when I wanted em to...

Sadly, gdocs is something you have to fight with. There are many things that don't make sense to me in it.
Also you are right, seiyuu = voice actor

I thought about best movie, but given the osu! community, we would have to vote on movies that came out last year (since they take 9 months or so to come out on DVD/BD) and there would be like 4-5 movies to vote on, which is really small. On top of that, I don't even know how many people have actually watched an anime movie that came out this year. I have a feeling that number is also small.

If you can show 2 other people thinking it will be worthwhile to vote for, I'll add it, but I think it is slightly silly (movies are already allowed for all anime categories already).
