The North Star LAN
An osu! meetup & LAN tournament in Minneapolis, Minnesota
This event started out as a small idea between a few members of the osu! Minnesota Discord server, but it has rapidly grown into Minnesota's largest osu! meetup, and will be hosting the state's first ever LAN tournament, featuring a round robin qualifier running into a 2v2 tournament.
With over 20 people already confirmed for the event, we think this one will be a banger.

The Venue
Given the scale and hardware requirements of this event, we've chosen to rent out a space at The Left Click Lounge, a Premium Gaming Lounge in Dinkytown on the University of Minnesota campus. After meeting with the owners to discuss logistics and visiting the venue irl, we can confirm that it lives up to its description as a premium event center, with excellent hardware and flexibility for our needs.Quick Information:

As for transportation, the venue is near several bus lines, and several free/metered parking spaces are available nearby (the 4th street ramp is a great option). If you live farther out than the Twin Cities and need transportation assistance, you can join our discord to coordinate ridesharing with other attendees.
What to Bring
The venue will be providing computers, monitors, headphones, and basic peripherals.If you play with a tablet, you will need to bring your own. Additionally, though the venue does provide you with hardware, you can choose to bring your own if you so desire. This can include everything from peripherals (mice, keyboards, ect) to entire computers, though we ask that you only bring hardware that is relatively easy to set up.

As for software, the venue also has us covered. Copies of osu! and OpenTabletDriver will be installed on every PC prior to the event, and you are free to download any beatmaps or skins you'll need while there. Any additional software you wish to install will have to be evaluated on a case by case basis.
Tournament
This event will feature a casual, open rank tournament that all attendees are free to enter. The tournament itself will consist of two phases: a round robin qualifier round and a 2v2 double elimination tournament. The final matches of the double elimination tournament will be streamed live on Twitch, and the winning team will take home a small prize pending reveal (stay tuned!)This information is pending and may subject to change.
Round Robin Qualifier: Players will be split between two lobbies hosting the same map pool, which they will play through in its entirety. Once this has concluded, the top 8 highest scoring players will form teams based on their seeding:

2v2 Double Elimination Tournament: Following a 1 hour break, the teams of 2 will then enter a bracket and compete in a traditional double elimination tournament. Matches leading up to the grand finals will host a BO7 with 1 ban, while the grand finals will host a BO9 with 2 bans. The winners finals, losers finals, and grand finals will all be streamed on Twitch.

Activities
This event will run pretty similar to a traditional meetup, meaning it will be relatively unstructured with most of the time being allocated for casual play, socializing, and the tournament. However, we have prepared materials for a few small activities that we can host during the event. The schedule below provides further detail.This information is pending and may subject to change.
