Is there a way to fill the gaps in column spacing?

im trying to make a skin and i wanted to space out the notes, so i tried spacing the columns, and i didnt like how the gaps werent opaque

No, from what I seen.

However you can separate it by using "ColumnWidth" in the skin.ini, and make spaces around the key images and note images - extending the canvas.
But it would be a bit more step and trial and error.
